The chairman, Stakeholders of Eziukwu Road Market Traders Association, Aba, Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor (JP), Nwakaibeya Oraifite and Omeudo 1 of Abaukwu has extolled the giant strides of the Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) in his first 100 Days in Office, especially the ground-breaking commissioning of the deplorable Eziukwu/Cemetery Road leading into the popular market.

According to Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor who is the Chief Life Patron of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba and the last elected chairman of the market, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has done them proud by reconstructing the road, which had been neglected by past administrations in the state.

He described the gesture as unprecedented in the history of the market and a true reflection of his profound love for the traders.

He noted that so many of the traders left the market because of the bad road and expressed confidence that with the commissioning of the road they would now do business with ease.

Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor also lauded Dr. Alex Otti for reconstructing Emelogu Road, Shalom Road, Ahiaba Umueze Road leading to Abia State Teaching Hospital, Aba including his giant strides in health, education, agriculture, security, civil service, trade among other sectors stressing that if
he could record these remarkable achievements in his first 100 Days in Office, which his predecessors could not do throughout their eight-year tenures respectively, it means that he would take Abia State to enviable heights in the days ahead and before the end of his first term Abia would resemble London, he enthused.

He appealed to the People’s Governor, Dr. Alex Otti to look into the long abandoned Port Harcourt Road, Aba adding that it has affected their businesses adversely as their numerous customers now go to other places to buy goods.

Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor promised total support of the traders to Dr. Alex Otti’s-led administration and urged them to pay their taxes and other approved government levies to ensure provision of more dividends of democracy to them.

Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor who is a member of Alternative Dispute Resolution of Nigeria also appreciated the chairman of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo for the able manner he has been piloting the affairs of the market since his assumption of office.

He called on the traders to give Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo maximum support adding that the market would witness tremendous changes under his people-oriented and God-fearing leadership.

Speaking on his position as the chairman, Stakeholders of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor who said that he has spent over forty years in the market disclosed that some of his responsibilities include uniting the stakeholders of the market, maintenance of peace in the market, liaising between the traders and the government, advising the executive of the market, encouraging the traders to pay their taxes and levies among others adding that he would not disappoint the confidence reposed in him.

Chief Sir Jonathan Oguejiofor is a renowned golfer and the 24th Captain, Golf Section, Aba Sports Club 1926.

He was the first sitting Captain to host the 1st Abia Governor’s Cup Open Golf Championship (PRO/AM) at the Golf Section of Aba Sports Club 1926, which lasted from May 19-23, 2021.
