2024 Abia LG Election: Labour Party Flags Off Campaign in Abia State
The Labour Party (LP) flagged-off its campaign for the November 2, 2024 local government election in Abia State at Recreation Club, Aba on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
In his speech, the acting state chairman of the party, Hon. G. O. Ndubueze assured all the seventeen chairmanship candidates as well as the councillorship candidates of the ruling Labour Party in the state of their preparedness to deliver them saying that the party’s remarkable performance in the state puts it on a sure footing to sweep the polls.
He called on the party faithful and the people of Abia State to vote massively for all the Labour Party candidates in the election to ensure more development of the state at the grassroots.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of Labour Party flags to the seventeen chairmanship candidates by Comrade Ceekay Igara who doubles as the National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party, Southeast Zone and chairman, Abia State Election Committee.
He reiterated their determination to re-enact their winning streak in the 2023 election in Abia State, which produced Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), so many state legislators and members of the National Assembly in the local government election.
He told the candidates to commence their campaigns in earnest and synergize with both the leadership and membership of the party at the ward, local government and state levels to ensure their landslide victory in the election.
The official campaign flag-off of the party was well attended and legendary Old Skool musicians thrilled the large turnout of party faithful and others with sweet renditions.
Speaking in a chat with newsmen, Hon. Golden Kelechi Nwabuisi, the Labour Party (LP) councillorship candidate for Osusu 1 Ward 3 in Aba North local government area thanked the party for giving him the ticket to contest for the election.
He expressed his unwavering determination to be a good ambassador of the party at the grassroots, to render selfless service to the people of his ward as well as to contribute his own quota to the development of Abia State.
On his part, Hon. Ifeanyi Wisdom Chibuenyim, the Labour Party councillorship candidate for Aba River Ward 11 appreciated the party and members of his ward for the confidence reposed in him.
He urged them to come out en masse, especially his fellow youths on the day of election and vote for him adding that he would not disappoint them.
