ISCAF Makes Waves in Abia State
The Ibo Senior Citizens Affairs Foundation (ISCAF) has really come to stay in the nation.
Founded some years ago, the group has made tremendous progress under the able leadership of Bishop M. A. Enyioha.
With its presence in fifteen out of the thirty-six states of the nation within a very short time of its existence, the group promises to become the nation’s leading humanitarian organization very soon.
Barely one month after the inauguration of its Abia State Chapter, the wave-making humanitarian body has spread its tentacles in all the nooks and crannies of the seventeen local government areas of Abia State.
In a chat with Jideofor Ugwanyi, Signal Publisher, the Chief Facilitator, Abia State Chapter, Rev. Apostle Chinedu Ikpeama who is also the Abia State Commandant of Gallant, a para-military group described ISCAF as a divine project adding that God is using them to provide succour to the needy.
He disclosed this during their opening meeting for the year held at the All Ngwa Cultural Organization (ANCO) Hall on Friday, January 19, 2024.
According to him, the meeting was convened to thank God for ushering them into the New Year as well as to chart a new course on how to achieve all their laudable objectives this year.
He said that the movement though new in Abia State has made rapid progress in so many areas such as provision of cash and foodstuff to the needy, especially widows, payment of hospital bills for the poor, provision of shelter for the homeless, potable water among others.
Talking about the way they operate he disclosed that they first pay courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of any community they visited informing him of their mission before searching for the needy there.
The opening meeting for the year was well attended. Some of those present were Mrs. Chika Eze (Facilitator, ISCAF, Abia South), Dr. Prince Isaiah, Chief Eze Sunny Emole Egbulefu (retired Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Abia State) among others.
