Alex Otti is the Best Governor of Abia State

The First Deputy Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers and traditional ruler of Isieketa Ancient Kingdom in Isiala Ngwa South local government area of Abia State, HRM Eze Nelson Achilefu Nmerengwa has extolled the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his monumental achievements in the state within a short time in office describing him simply as the Best Governor Abia State has ever had since its creation on August 27, 1991 by the then Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (IBB).

The popular, amiable, handsome, forthright, indefatigable, ebullient, highly intelligent and quintessential Royal Father said this in a chat with newsmen at the ‘Iwa ji’ ceremony (New Yam Festival) of the immediate past Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Eze Joseph Ndubuisi Nwabeke (CFR), the Eze Amara 1 of Eziama Ntigha Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa North LGA held at his magnificent country home on Friday, October 4, 2024.

HRM Eze Nelson Achilefu Nmerengwa, the Eze Isiala 1 of Isieketa Ancient Kingdom emphasized that the people of Abia State are very lucky to have Dr. Alex Otti as their governor this time.

According to him, Dr. Alex Otti is God-send and well-prepared to lead the people of Abia State to the the Promised Land.

He praised the renowned economist, seasoned banker, inimitable technocrat and People’s Governor for all his good works in Abia State since his assumption of office, especially in the areas of infrastructural development, education, health, agriculture, security, ease of doing business, payment of workers salaries among others.

He said that the way he is executing long abandoned and dilapidated major roads across the state shows that he is in a hurry to transform the state and make it the pride of the nation.

He commended him for the on-going reconstruction of the long abandoned Port Harcourt Road, Aba by Julius Berger, a leading construction company in Nigeria, the completion and commissioning of the first six lane Ossah Road in Abia State now renamed General Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, the recent flag off of the construction of the 19.1km Itungwa-Omoba-Ahiaba Ubi-Nkwo Kelechi Road, flag-off of the construction of Court Halls across the 17 local government areas of the state, reconstruction of Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Ohafia, Arochukwu Road, desilting of drainages, flag off of the construction of multi-billion naira Bus Terminals at Aba and Umuahia, Operation Light-up Abia Initiative aimed at installing streetlights on the road to illuminate the state and boost night business, Operation Keep Abia Clean, upgrading and retrofitting of Hospitals/Health Centres, prompt payment of workers salaries among others.

He said that Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has travelled to different countries abroad adding that as a man of the people and lover of good things he wants to replicate the good things he has witnessed abroad in Abia State to enhance the lot of the people.

He noted that since Dr. Alex Otti mounted the saddle no day passes without the evidence of his New Abia Agenda manifesting in different sectors of the state.

He said that they have never had it so good since the creation of Abia State despite the meagre resources accruing to the state because of Dr. Alex Otti’s mantra that government is for the people and belongs to the people.

He expressed confidence that every project initiated by his administration would be completed saying that by the time he clocks three years in office people would find it difficult to recognize Abia State because of the tremendous transformation that would have taken place under his watch.

He described Dr. Alex Otti as a visionary leader and called on all Abians to give him total support so as to actualize all his good intentions for the state.

He prayed God to grant him long life, good health, protection and more resources to continue to pilot the affairs of Abia State to greater heights.

HRM Eze Nelson Nmerengwa also congratulated his very good friend, HRM Eze Joseph Ndubuisi Nwabeke (CFR) on his New Yam celebration (Iwa ji) wishing him and the entire people of Eziama Ntigha Autonomous Community a joyous celebration and God’s continued blessings.

He commended him for preserving and promoting the New Yam Festival, which he described as an integral part of Igbo cultural heritage.

HRM Eze Nelson Nmerengwa, a well known ‘Ezeji Oha Ngwa’ and consummate philanthropist said that farming is the major occupation of Ngwa people and urged everybody to engage in farming at least to sustain themselves and provide for others, especially during this period of extreme hunger and unabated economic hardship across the nation.
