The traditional ruler of Isiala-Itu autonomous community in Obingwa local government area of Abia State, HRH Eze Adolphus Esiwoko Abakwue (Ugochinyere 1 of Isiala-Itu) has been inaugurated as the new chairman of Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers following his resounding victory in the just-concluded Traditional Rulers Council election held in the seventeen local government areas of the state.
The prominent and quintessential traditional ruler expressed profound gratitude to God for his emergence and thanked his colleagues for finding him worthy to pilot the affairs of Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers.
He promised not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him adding that he would serve them selflessly with humility and fear of God.
He promised to make their welfare his topmost priority as well as ensure peace and harmonious relationship among them.
He assured them that he would run an all-inclusive administration and enjoined all hands to be on deck so as to actualize their laudable objectives.
He commended the Governor of Abia State on his numerous achievements in the state within a very short time in office, especially in the areas of sanitation, road construction and rehabilitation, prompt payment of workers salary, healthcare, education, security commerce, industry, agriculture among others.
He assured him of the total support of Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers as well as the entire people of Obingwa local government area.
He expressed optimism that if he sustains the hypersonic tempo of his developmental strides that Abia State would be among the best states in the nation.

I am HRH Eze Adolphus Esiwoko Abakwue (Ugochinyere 1 of Isiala-Itu) in Obingwa local government area of Abia State.

How do you feel about it?
I thank God for everything. I also appreciate the profound love and overwhelming solidarity of my fellow traditional rulers. I thank them sincerely for finding me worthy to pilot the affairs of Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers. I will not disappoint the confidence reposed in me. My prayer is for God to imbue us with wisdom and strength to be able to discharge our responsibilities creditably. I urge them to join hands with us in moving Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers to greater height.
What are your promises to Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers?
First and foremost, I will enthrone an atmosphere of peace and unity among us. I will serve them selflessly and make their welfare our topmost priority. I will carry all of them along in the affairs of Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers. Under my watch, Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers would be a gathering of equals. There would be no intimidation or discrimination among us.
What is your charge to your fellow traditional rulers in Obingwa?
Change is always difficult. This is a new dawn, a time for positive changes and we would work very hard to put so many good things in place in my tenure. So I encourage them to be part of the moving train.
How would you rate the present administration in Abia State?
So far so good. The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) appears to be in a hurry to transform Abia State. He has done so many remarkable things in different parts of the state within a short time in office and we are convinced that he has indeed come to change the narrative in Abia State. With the way he is going we are sure that he would make Abia State the pride of the nation.
What are your parting words?
I call on my fellow traditional rulers and the entire people of Obingwa local government area to be law-abiding and support the present administration in the state.
