Members of Abia Arise, Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, held their first meeting of the New Year amid fanfare, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to grassroots mobilization, good governance and the re-election of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, in 2027.

The well-attended meeting, which took place at the Secretariat Auditorium of the Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, commenced with an opening prayer by the Chairman of Abia Arise, Ekeoha Shopping Centre Aba, Mr. Innocent Anosike.

He thanked God for the successful Christmas and New Year celebrations and for granting members of Abia Arise and the entire traders of the market safe journeys back to Aba in good health.

In his address, after the presentation of kola nut, Mr. Anosike expressed appreciation to the leaders, elders, stakeholders and members of Abia Arise for their massive turnout and assured them that the New Year would be rewarding for all.

He particularly acknowledged the presence of the Grand Patron/Diamond Father of Ekeoha Shopping Centre Aba, Chief Barth Azubuike Madubuko (JP), who also doubles as the Grand Patron of Abia Arise, Ekeoha Chapter, describing him as a rallying point of unity and grassroots mobilization in the market.

He also appreciated the Aba South Coordinator of Abia Arise, Deacon Mazi Kingsley Madubuike, describing his presence as a morale booster for the group.

Mr. Anosike reiterated the group’s absolute commitment to the re-election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR), whom he praised for what he described as remarkable strides in infrastructure, urban renewal and good governance across the state.

He said that Governor Otti has made them proud by silencing his traducers and the opposition with both words and deeds, adding that they would reciprocate his good works by ensuring his re-election in 2027.

He urged members of Abia Arise, Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that it remained the only key to consolidating good governance in the state under Dr. Alex Otti’s administration.

Speaking, the Grand Patron, Chief Barth Azubuike Madubuko (JP), extolled Governor Otti’s tremendous achievements in different parts of the state, particularly his massive infrastructural renewal in Aba and Umuahia, including the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road, Aba.

He expressed delight that Aba, the legendary Enyimba City and economic hub of Abia State, has regained its lost glory and assured the governor of their unalloyed support for his re-election in 2027.

According to him, the re-election of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti in 2027 is a foregone conclusion, stressing that nobody can stop it.

He urged members to obtain their PVCs and vote massively for the governor in 2027 to enable him to continue his good works in the state, to the glory of God and the betterment of the people.

On his part, the Aba South Coordinator of Abia Arise, Deacon Mazi Kingsley Madubuike, appreciated Chief Barth Azubuike Madubuko (JP) for his consistent support and fatherly role in Abia Arise and the market.

He applauded Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his quality leadership and monumental achievements in the state, and commended the Ekeoha chapter for its level of organization and engagement.

He noted that the market remains critical to effective grassroots mobilization and support for the re-election of Governor Otti in 2027.

He charged the leadership of Abia Arise, Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, to collapse the entire market into Abia Arise and harped on the need for unity, transparency, accountability, selflessness, discipline and sustained engagement with traders.

The meeting climaxed with the distribution of bags of rice to members, donated by Governor Otti as part of efforts to support them.

At the end, they departed in high spirits, expressing confidence that the governor’s performance has positioned him favourably ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting attracted many dignitaries, including Nwachukwu Duru (Ward 8 Coordinator of Abia Arise), Mrs. Elizabeth Izuwa (Ekeoha Woman Leader), Mrs. Jane Ifeanyi (Woman Leader), Mrs. Amaka Esotu (Secretary), Hon. Jude Osuagwu, Comrade Okechukwu Onuh (Dutchman), among others.
