AJUCCON Honours Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi
The Association of Judges of Customary Courts of Nigeria (AJUCCON), Abia State Chapter has presented a prestigious Award of Honour to Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi, the Eze-elect of Obohia Autonomous Community in Ukwa East local government area of Abia State.
The grand occasion took place at his Obohia country home on Tuesday, December 24, 2024.
The Chairman/ Mayor, Association of Judges of Customary Courts of Nigeria (AJUCCON), Abia State Chapter, His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa (FCPDM) and his entourage comprising His Honour Sir Ugochukwu Enerenwa Ananaba (First member, Customary Court, Obegu), Ogechi Ejike Emmanuel (Registrar, Customary Court, Obegu), Comrade Victor Nwosu (Assistant Chief Registrar, Customary Court, Uhie), His Honour Chief Gabriel Nwaobilor, Chijoke Nwogu (PRO, Abia State University, Uturu) among others were given a rousing welcome on arrival by the distinguished awardee and members of Obohia Ruling Council.
After the presentation of kola nut and introduction of all those present, His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa said that they came to present the highly distinguished Award of Honour to Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi who was among the three Royal Fathers invited to the two-day Hybrid Workshop for Judges of the Lower Courts in Abia State held at Bishop Anthony Nwedo Pastoral Centre, Umuahia on December 11-12, 2024 but because of his absence they decided to come and present it to him at his country home.
His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa described the popular, handsome, amiable eloquent, indefatigable and peace-loving Eze-elect as a rare gem and consummate philanthropist who has touched the lives of so many people within and outside his community positively.
He said that the Award of Honour is a testament to his life-long commitment to peaceful coexistence, well-being of the people and development of the community.
Thereafter, he presented the Partner-in-Progress Award of Honour to Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi in recognition of his unparalleled philanthropy and immense contributions to the service of God and humanity.
He appreciated the awardee for distinguishing himself in so many spheres of life. He urged him not to relent in his good works and prayed that the Almighty God will continue to elevate him to greater height in Jesus name.
In his response, Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi said that he was overwhelmed by the Award of Honour presented to him by the Association of Judges of Customary Courts of Nigeria (AJUCCON), Abia State Chapter.
The young, forthright, ebullient, quintessential, God-fearing Eze-elect and philanthropist extraordinaire said that this is the first time he is receiving such a highly distinguished Award of Honour from the Judiciary stressing that he would not take it for granted because the Award is not a child’s play or something you can buy with money or exalted position.
He promised not to disappoint their expectations and to strive to make them proud any time they call on him.
He appreciated his family, Obohia Ruling Council, the entire community, the people of Ukwa East local government area and others for their love and overwhelming solidarity.
He described members of Obohia Ruling Council as men of unimpeachable integrity who mean well for the people and the community.
He thanked them immensely for choosing him as their Eze-elect and assured that he would surpass their expectations.
He urged them to always remain united, peaceful, loving, caring, honest, humble, God-fearing, law-abiding and wished them Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi hails from Umunwulu Umuokoroaja, Obohia Autonomous Community in Ukwa East local government area of Abia State.
He is a leading Ambassador of Igbo culture. His unremitting advocacy for the promotion of Igbo culture and tradition both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora has earned him prestigious accolades from far and near.
While in Spain, he formed Ohanaeze Ndigbo Chapter in collaboration with other like minds, which later gave birth to so many other chapters in the Diaspora.
He also liaised with the home chapters of Ohanaeze Ndigbo to ensure a synergy aimed at restoring Ndigbo to their pride of place in the affairs of the nation.
The emergence of Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi as the Eze-elect of Obohia Autonomous Community is hailed by the people as divine and he strongly believes that he has the capacity to enhance the lot of the people and to do more for them and the community if he becomes the traditional ruler by the grace of God.
In his speech, the General Overseer of The Holy Ghost Revival Fire of Authority Ministry Inc, (The Mountain of the Lord’s House), Rev. Dr. Chidi Chrison Okere, the Mbichiriezi-elect of Umukoko kindred, Obohia expressed great delight with the prestigious award presented to Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi describing it as well-deserved.
Rev. Dr. Chidi extolled him as a very good man, inimitable trailblazer and a man of the people. He said that he is the people’s choice for the traditional stool of Obohia Autonomous Community.
He recalled his late father’s relentless efforts to ensure that a responsible person occupies the throne of the community adding that the emergence of Chief Ugochukwu John Nduwuisi is a fait accompli.
He said that he is eminently qualified to be their traditional ruler and urged the people to support him to actualize their dream.
He appreciated His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa and members of AJUCCON for the award presented to their Eze-elect and wished them safe journey back to their various destinations.
In their separate speeches, the chairman, Obohia Council of Village Heads, Mbichiriezi Enyinnaya Benson, Mbichiriezi Ejiogu Nwagbara, Hon. Chibuike Ejiofor and others appreciated AJUCCON for the honour done their Eze-elect. They sang, danced and showered encomiums on him for doing them and the entire community proud.
They described him as a very good man with a heart of gold stressing that the Award stands as an inspiration and encouragement to them as well as leaders and other well-meaning individuals to prioritize the well-being of the people and development of their communities.
They wished him well saying that more outstanding awards would come his way because of his unparalleled philanthropy and selfless service to humanity.
The occasion climaxed with the decoration of His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa with the popular Ukwa East traditional wrapper and a closing prayer by His Honour Sir Ugochukwu Enerenwa Ananaba, the Chairman and Coordinator, Council of Knights, Oyigbo Zone.
He thanked God for the successful outing and prayed that He would see the Eze-elect through in his quest to ascend the throne, to imbue him with wisdom to pilot the affairs of the community to greater height and to lead them safely back to their various destinations.
Thereafter, all roads led to Rev. Dr. Chidi Okere’s residence for another unforgettable reception. It also came to an end with the decoration of His Worship Dr. Diamond Olewengwa with their popular traditional wrapper and a closing prayer by Chijoke Nwogu.
The event brought together members of Obohia Ruling Council and other notable dignitaries including Mbichiriezi Chijiokem Iheanacho, Mbichiriezi Sunday Nwankwo Nnadede, High Chief Donatus Enyinnaya Kumalu, Mbichiriezi Anthony Chike Onyeju, Mbichiriezi Ndudim Nwahunanya, the Youth President of Obohia Autonomous Community, Comrade Chinenye Ukaegbu (a.k.a. Okadigbo the Great) among others.
