Aladura Akubuike Etolihu Goes Home in Grand Style
The remains of Aladura Akubuike Geoffrey Uzodimma Etolihu (Ogbusuo) were laid to rest at his hometown, Amiyi-Obinohia in Isuikwuato local government area of Abia State on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
The funeral service was officiated by Senior Apostle Samson Okah assisted by Senior Apostle White Okoro, Apostle Ezenwata and Apostle Sunday Onyema of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
They described the deceased as a dedicated servant of God whose exemplary Christian life transcended beyond his community.
They said that the death of the righteous is a blessing because they know where they are going and expressed optimism that the deceased is resting in the Lord.
They encouraged the deceased’s family not to mourn as those without hope but to take solace in the fact that he died in Christ.
At the end, they prayed for his family asking God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, to bless them and continue to protect them always.
In their separate tributes, one of the deceased’s sons, Chika Etolihu, Hon. Michael Egeonu Ogele who led a delegation of distinguished personalities from Uturu, the deceased’s maternal home, the brother of the deceased’s wife, Ibeabuchi and others described the deceased as a quiet, respectful, kind, loving, caring, generous, peaceful, forthright and God-fearing man adding that his demise has created a very big vacuum not only in his family, the Eternal Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church but to all those who knew him.
In his response, the first son of the deceased, Sunday Etolihu thanked all for their love, support, prayers and coming to bid their beloved father final goodbye.
He prayed God to grant them safe journey back to their different destinations adding that they would not lack support in their own time of need or sorrow.
Thereafter, his remains were committed to mother-earth in his compound.
Immediately after interment, the large turnout of distinguished personalities, relatives, friends, in-laws and others from far and near were well-entertained with delicious cuisines and assorted drinks.
Sunday Etolihu and his siblings tried so much in giving their beloved father a befitting burial in appreciation of his love and care for them.
The late Aladura Akubuike Geoffrey Uzodimma Etolihu was a renowned transporter and highly respected community leader.
He was aged 80 years (1945-2025) and survived by his wife, Cecilia Etolihu, his children (Sunday, Chukwudi, Chika, Rejoice, Ngozi, Ndubuisi, Amarachi including his daughters-in-law (Ogechi Sunday Etolihu, Peace Chukwudi Etolihu, Grace Ndubuisi Etolihu) and other relatives too numerous to mention.
