Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community Presents Ndubueze Ukaegbu As Eze-elect …After 10 years Without Traditional Ruler

It was a moment of joy as the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community in Obingwa local government area of Abia State unanimously presented High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu (Ugo 11) as their Eze-elect to the Mayor of Obingwa local government area, Dr. Eric Egwuibe with pomp and ceremony.

The crowd that accompanied him to the historic occasion held at Obingwa Council Headquarters, Mgboko on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 was unprecedented.

The presentation ceremony scheduled to hold in the morning commenced later in the afternoon because of the unavoidable absence of the Mayor of Obingwa, Dr. Eric Egwuibe who was said to have gone to Umuahia that morning for an emergency meeting.

As soon as he arrived and duly seated, the presentation ceremony commenced with an opening prayer by Monday Ukaegbu.

It was followed by introduction of some of the distinguished personalities present including traditional rulers.

After the presentation of kola nut, the chairman, Council of Eze-Makers, Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community, Chinenye Friday Ikpeoha read the address of the community before presenting their Eze-elect to the Mayor of Obingwa local government area.

According to the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community, they are very happy and proud to present High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu as their Eze-elect to the Obingwa Council boss, Dr. Eric Egwuibe ten years after the demise of their first traditional ruler, HRH Eze Clifford Ngwakwe (Ugo 1).

The people appreciated the eleven-member Council of Eze-Makers of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community comprising Chinenye Friday Ikpeoha (chairman), J. C. Nwangburuka (secretary), Chima Alozie, Nozie Nwoko, Uzoma Nwolu, Hafuruchi Nwaobilor, Chinwendu Akwarandu, Onyenaucheya Nwoko, Obinna Ngwakwe, Chief Uzoma Odoemelam and Chief Samuel A. Nwangburuka for choosing High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu as their Eze-elect.

At the end of their address, High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu (Ugo 11) was duly presented to the Mayor of Obingwa, Dr. Eric Egwuibe for recognition and recommendation to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for acceptance and presentation of staff of office to him as the traditional ruler (Ugo 11) of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community.

They pledged their unalloyed loyalty and continued support to the people-oriented administration of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) wishing him more fruitful years in office.

In his remarks, the Mayor of Obingwa LGA, Dr. Eric Egwuibe commended the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community for the peaceful selection of High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu as their Eze-elect as well as for accompanying him in their numbers to his presentation at Obingwa local government headquarters, Mgboko.

Dr. Eric Egwuibe described him as the people’s choice and assured the people that he would do the needful by recommending him to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti.

He called on the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community to rally round him for the development of their community and urged them to sustain their support for Dr. Alex Otti’s administration.

He congratulated the Eze-elect, High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu and wished him well.

In his response, the Eze-elect, High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu appreciated the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community for finding him worthy to be their traditional ruler.

He applauded the Council of Eze-Makers of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community for endorsing his unanimous nomination for the vacant stool of the community as well as the traditional rulers and other notable dignitaries for gracing the epoch-making occasion.

He thanked the Mayor of Obingwa, Dr. Eric Egwuibe for the warm reception accorded them and promised not to disappoint him, the people of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community, Abia State and the nation at large.

He described his choice as a great honour stressing that he would continue to do his best towards the development of the community.

He reeled out his four cardinal-point agenda aimed at promoting peace, long life, good health and progress in the community and
solicited for the support of all and sundry adding that the development of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community is a task that needs all hands to be on deck.

He pledged the total support of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community to the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) adding that the community is open for business and would do everything possible to replicate the giant strides of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti in Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community, Ngwa Land and Abia State.

He urged the people to sustain their support for the Mayor of Obingwa, Dr. Eric Egwuibe and the present state government under the able leadership of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) adding that together they would take the community to the next level.

The presentation ceremony was a huge success. It climaxed with a vote of thanks by Chima Alozie and closing prayer by Obinna Ngwakwe.

The presentation ceremony attracted the presence of many people including the Head of Service, Obingwa LGA, Lady Sophia Ogoke, Uzoma Nwolu (HoS, Osisioma Ngwa), HRM Eze Joseph A. Nwagwu, HRM Eze Amadi C. Azuogu and others.

Thereafter, all roads led to Umuakatawom Community Primary School Field for a grand reception.

In a chat with Jideofor Ugwanyi, the Publisher of Signal Magazine, Uzoma Nwolu, the Head of Service, Osisioma Ngwa LGA and illustrious son of Umuakatawom expressed great satisfaction with the presentation of High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu as their Eze-elect.

Uzoma Nwolu described the Eze-elect as a humble, respectful, dependable, hardworking, generous and God-fearing man.

He said that he is eminently qualified to be their traditional ruler adding that he has fulfilled all the requirements enshrined in their constitution.

He expressed optimism that he would use his vast experience to bring peace and development to their community stressing that he has demonstrated capacity for leadership of the community in all ramifications over years.

He lauded his immense contributions to the development of the community adding that he is building a health centre for them presently.

Uzoma Nwolu wished him well and prayed God to grant him long life, good health and wisdom to pilot the affairs of Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community to greater height.

The Eze-elect, High Chief Ndubueze Ehisianya Ukaegbu hails from Amorji Umuakatawom village.

He was presented to the community at Umuakatawom Primary School Field on January 9, 2023.

This is the first time his village is producing a traditional ruler in Amaise Alaukwu Autonomous Community.

The renowned US-based healthcare professional is a legendary philanthropist whose contributions to the development of the community, the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church and the society at large are too numerous to mention. He is presently building a health centre for the people.
