CHIEF BARTH MADUBUKO FELICITATES SON AT UNN 52ND MATRICULATION
It was a moment of joy, celebration, and heartfelt thanksgiving to God as Chief Barth Azubuike Madubuko (JP) felicitated his son, Madubuko Nzubechukwu Valerian, during the 52nd Matriculation Ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The colourful ceremony, held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the prestigious institution, marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of young Nzubechukwu, who was among the newly admitted students formally inducted into the university community.
Chief Madubuko, the Grand Patron of the popular Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba and a two-time consecutive Executive Chairman of the market, expressed profound gratitude to God for granting him the grace to witness such an important moment in his son’s life.
The elated father described the occasion as a dream come true and a testament to God’s faithfulness to his family.
He said witnessing his son begin his university education at the renowned institution filled him with pride and renewed hope for the future.
Chief Madubuko noted that he remained grateful to God for preserving his life to witness such a remarkable milestone in his son’s academic journey.
He prayed that God would continue to guide the young undergraduate, grant him wisdom, and help him excel in his studies.
He also advised his son to remain focused on his academic pursuit, avoid negative influences, and uphold values that would make the family proud.
According to him, discipline, dedication, hard work, and godly devotion are essential virtues that would help him succeed in life.
The proud father further assured him of continued parental support, stating that exceptional academic performance would open greater opportunities in the future.
He disclosed that if Nzubechukwu performed well and successfully completed his undergraduate programme, arrangements would be made for him to join his elder brother abroad for further studies.
Chief Madubuko also expressed excitement that his son was among the new intakes admitted into the highly respected university.
Responding, Nzubechukwu—a “Jambite,” a common term for first-year students in Nigerian universities—expressed appreciation to his father for his unwavering support and encouragement.
He assured him that the confidence reposed in him would not be taken for granted.
The young undergraduate said he was determined to remain focused on his studies and avoid anything that could jeopardize his academic pursuit or bring the family into disrepute.
He also pledged to study diligently and maintain discipline throughout his university years in order to make his father and the entire family proud.
Before gaining admission, Nzubechukwu was a student of the renowned Divine Rays British School (DRBS), an institution founded by the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Emmanuel Obimma, widely known as Fr. Ebube Muonso or “Ebube One Touch.”
An outstanding student, Nzubechukwu distinguished himself academically by emerging among the top performers in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
He subsequently gained admission the same year into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he is currently studying Social Work in the Department of Social Sciences.
The matriculation ceremony attracted families, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate with the newly admitted students as they officially began their academic journey.
For the Madubuko family, the occasion ended on a joyous note, with friends and relatives joining them in a memorable celebration filled with love, gratitude, excitement, and hope for a bright and successful future for the young undergraduate.
