Early Life and Achievements Born on September 4, 1942, in Ikeduru, Imo State, Nigeria, you rose from humble beginnings to become a shining example of excellence . Your academic prowess earned you a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Politics and Public Service As a seasoned politician, you served with distinction in various capacities, including:
– Member, House of Representatives (1979-1983). – Minister of Information (1983-1984) Chairman, Nigerian Football Association (1986-1989)
Personal Encounters I will never forget the first time I met you when you came to campaign at All Saint Anglican Church, Abayi Umuacham, in Aba, Nigeria, in the 1990s. Your charisma and vision inspired me, and I was honored to have met you.
Your kindness extended beyond politics; you generously supported my House of Assembly election in 1998 through your foundation, Iwuanyanwu Ambulance. I am forever grateful for your belief in me.
Our last meeting was on December 31st, 2023, at Bende Local Government Area, during a reception in honour of Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives . We exchanged warm pleasantries, and you expressed admiration for my political efforts, inviting me to visit you for further discussions. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to do so before your untimely passing.
You had a personal relationship with one of my sons and your belief in him would always be appreciated.
