EKEOHA CHAIRMAN ENDORSES OTTI FOR SECOND TERM

The Chairman of Ekeoha Shopping Centre Aba, Comrade Emeka Okeke, popularly known as MECON GLOBAL, has formally endorsed Governor Alex Chioma Otti for a second term in office, describing the Abia State Governor as a visionary leader whose developmental strides have transformed the state within a short period.

Comrade Okeke made the declaration in Aba while addressing traders, business leaders and members of the Ekeoha business community.

He said his endorsement of Governor Otti for re-election in 2027 was based on the governor’s remarkable achievements, sincerity of purpose, people-oriented policies and unwavering commitment to rebuilding Abia State after many years of maladministration.

According to him, Governor Otti has demonstrated uncommon commitment to rebuilding Abia State through massive infrastructural renewal, prudent management of public resources, improved security, restoration of confidence in governance and deliberate policies aimed at reviving the economy of the state.

Comrade Okeke stressed that the decision to endorse Governor Alex Otti for a second term was not driven by political sentiment but by a practical assessment of the good work the governor was doing.

He noted that Abia State was witnessing real governance for the first time in many years, adding that it would be unfair to halt the progress already being made.

He further stated that since assuming office, Governor Otti had shown that leadership was about service, accountability and tangible results.

He observed that roads abandoned for years were being reconstructed, the business environment was improving rapidly, and Aba was gradually regaining its pride as the commercial hub of the South East.

The Ekeoha chairman particularly commended the governor for the ongoing reconstruction of major roads in Aba and other parts of the state, noting that improved road networks had boosted commercial activities and eased the movement of goods and services.

He pointed out that traders and residents of Aba had benefitted immensely from the ongoing road rehabilitation projects, improved sanitation, enhanced security and renewed economic activities.

Okeke emphasized that the governor clearly understood the importance of Aba to the economy of Abia State, adding that the attention being given to road infrastructure, waste management and general urban renewal in the city were clear indicators that Abia was on the right path.

Speaking further, he noted that traders were directly feeling the positive impact of the administration, explaining that bad roads had previously crippled business but that strategic roads in Aba were now being fixed, to the benefit of commerce and productivity.

The Ekeoha chairman also commended Governor Otti for prioritizing civil service reforms, regular payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, and the fight against corruption, which he said had brought transparency and sanity to public administration in the state.

He recalled that for many years Abia had been associated with salary arrears and financial mismanagement, but observed that workers were now being paid as and when due, with public funds being deployed for the public good. These, he maintained, were strong reasons the governor deserved continuity.

Comrade Okeke further highlighted improvements in waste management, healthcare delivery, education and security as clear evidence that the state was moving in the right direction under the present administration.

He equally lauded Governor Otti for the ongoing remodelling of Ekeoha Shopping Centre Aba to international standards, stressing that the project would further boost commercial activities in Aba and Abia State when completed.

Okeke stressed that continuity was essential to consolidate the gains already recorded, noting that Abia had suffered for decades from poor governance and lack of direction.

He stated that Governor Otti came into office with a clear blueprint and that the positive impact of his administration had become visible within a short time.

He maintained that re-electing Governor Otti in 2027 would ensure that ongoing projects were completed and expanded for the overall benefit of the people of Abia State.

The Ekeoha chairman urged Abians, irrespective of political affiliation, to place the interest of the state above partisan considerations and support the re-election of Governor Otti so as to enable him complete the numerous projects and reforms he had initiated.

He explained that traders were practical people who supported any government that created an enabling environment for business to thrive, adding that Governor Otti had demonstrated capacity and commitment in that regard and therefore deserved another term in office.

Comrade Okeke further emphasized that development was a gradual process and that what was being witnessed in Abia today represented only the foundation of greater transformation ahead.

He expressed confidence that by 2027 Abia State would become a completely new state if Governor Otti was allowed to continue in office.

He also called on market associations, youth groups, professionals and community leaders to put the overall interest of Abia State above politics and support quality leadership that delivers results.

Stakeholders present applauded the endorsement by Comrade Emeka Okeke, describing it as a reflection of the growing acceptance of Governor Otti’s leadership across various segments of Abia society as well as adding to the growing list of organizations and stakeholders publicly backing Governor Alex Otti’s re-election bid, further reinforcing confidence in his administration’s ability to reposition Abia State for sustainable growth and development.
