EKEOHA TRADERS ADOPT OTTI FOR SECOND TERM

Traders at the popular Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, one of the largest commercial hubs in Abia State, have joined the growing list of groups and stakeholders across the state endorsing Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for re-election in 2027.

The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting of traders, market leaders and business operators held at the Ekeoha Secretariat in Aba.

The traders expressed profound satisfaction that Governor Otti has performed beyond expectations within two and a half years in office and resolved that he deserves to be re-elected in 2027 to consolidate on the gains already recorded.

Speaking on behalf of the traders, the Chairman of Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Comrade Emeka Okeke (MECON GLOBAL), explained that the endorsement was a collective decision driven by the positive impact of the present administration on the business community and the state at large, in a manner considered unprecedented in the past 24 years.

He noted that since Governor Otti assumed office, the business environment in Aba has improved significantly due to deliberate policies and massive infrastructural interventions.

According to him, the traders had carefully assessed the governor’s performance and were convinced that he remained the most suitable leader to take Abia State beyond 2027.

He added that the governor’s achievements were visible, particularly in Aba, the commercial hub of the state.

The traders commended the governor for the completion of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road, Ohanku Road and other strategic projects, particularly the remodelling of Ekeoha Shopping Centre, as well as the ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction of major roads in Aba.

They observed that poor road conditions had for many years crippled business activities in the commercial city.

They stated that roads which were previously impassable were now being fixed, resulting in improved access to markets, easier transportation and better movement of goods.

These developments, they stressed, had positively affected sales and overall commercial activities, forming practical reasons for their decision to support the governor’s second term.

The traders also applauded Governor Otti for improving security across the state, noting that the safer environment had restored confidence among investors and traders alike.

In addition, they commended the governor’s reforms in sanitation and waste management, pointing out that these efforts had brought order and cleanliness to Aba and made the city more attractive for business.

They recalled that in the past, refuse frequently overwhelmed streets and markets, but acknowledged that the situation had greatly improved under the present administration.

The Ekeoha business community further praised the governor for prudent management of state resources, regular payment of salaries and pensions, and his zero tolerance for corruption.

They maintained that the prompt payment of workers’ salaries had increased purchasing power and boosted market activities, emphasizing that good governance had positively affected every sector of the state.

The traders therefore resolved to mobilize massively across Aba and other parts of Abia State to ensure that Governor Otti is overwhelmingly re-elected in 2027.

They called on other market associations, professional bodies and well-meaning Abians to join hands in supporting the administration to enable it complete ongoing projects and initiate more developmental programmes.

They made it clear that their support was based on performance rather than party politics, adding that Governor Otti had given Abia State a new direction and deserved the opportunity to continue the good work.

Comrade Emeka Okeke urged traders and all Abians of voting age to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in order to participate actively in the re-election of the governor in 2027.

He insisted that Governor Otti deserved a second term in office, stressing that his achievements within a short period were remarkable and unmatched.

He maintained that the current state of affairs in Abia State was far better than what obtained in the past, and that the governor possessed the capacity to transform the state to greater heights.

He concluded that there was no viable alternative to Governor Alex Otti in 2027. Those present believe that the unanimous adoption of Governor Alex Otti by Ekeoha traders, a critical economic bloc in Abia State, represents a major boost to Governor Otti’s second term bid and a strong indication of widespread grassroots acceptance of his leadership.
