The classy burial of Ezinne Lolo Evelyn Ugochi Mgbeahuru (Nee Anyahuru) attracts the presence of an inestimable galaxy of creme de la creme of the nation to Amavo Nkwogu
The remains of Ezinne Lolo Evelyn Ugochi Nwaogu Mgbeahuru (Nee Anyahuru) were laid to rest at her husband’s compound, Umuonuma Amavo Nkwogu Autonomous Community in Osisioma Ngwa local government area of Abia State on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
The funeral service took place at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Umuobasi Amavo. The church was filled to capacity and those who came late had to stand outside.
In his funeral oration, the first son of the deceased and chief mourner, Hon. Chief lheyinna Ositadinma Benjamin Mgbeahuru popularly known as the Bridge paid glowing tribute to their beloved mother fondly called ‘Daa Ugo’ by all and sundry.
The erstwhile Executive Chairman of Osisioma Ngwa local government area of Abia State and Labour Party candidate for Osisioma Ngwa North State Constituency in the 2023 election expressed profound gratitude to God for giving them such a wonderful, loving and caring mother.
He described her as a rare gem whose love, compassion, hard work, generosity and godliness will continue to be remembered by all those who knew her.
He appreciated all the family members, in-laws, friends, political associates, business moguls, captains of industry, the Anglican Communion, various groups, the people of Amavo, the entire Osisioma Ngwa LGA and beyond for their love, support and presence.
Speaking in an emotion-laden voice, Hon. Chief Iheyinna Mgbeahuru (Ugosinachi) recalled with nostalgia the deep bond they shared with their late mother and how she laboured tirelessly to give them a brighter future.
He described her death as a very big blow to the entire family, community, the Anglican Communion, Osisioma Ngwa LGA and Abia State at large.
According to him, they have lost someone who was so special to them, so loving, so caring, so hard working and just irreplaceable.
Nevertheless, he said that they would take solace in the fact that she lived a fulfilled life adding that she was an inimitable role model, a lover of peace and a woman of extraordinary faith whose love for God and humanity knew no bounds.
He assured that they would sustain her shining virtues and continue to cherish the fond memories of her.
In his sermon titled, “Where is Your Name Written” taken from Revelation 20:12″, the preacher extolled the deceased’s good deeds in her family, the church and society at large adding that she died in the Lord.
He urged her children to emulate her exemplary life and continue to live in peace. He prayed God for the repose of her soul and to grant her children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
He said that the death of Ezinne Lolo Evelyn Ugochi Nwaogu Mgbeahuru is a sad reminder to all of the stark reality of death.
He urged them to repent and reconcile with God now that they are still alive and serve Him with all their heart, mind, body and soul in order to inherit eternal life.
He emphasized that the number of years one lived here on earth no matter how long or enjoyable it was cannot be compared with eternal life.
He admonished all and sundry to live a life that pleases God if they want to live forever stressing that everyone will give account one day.
After the funeral service, her remains were taken back to her late husband’s compound and committed to mother earth in a blaze of glory leaving behind a trail of emotions and memories that would linger in the minds of her children and all those who knew her.
Thereafter, relatives, in-laws, friends, distinguished personalities from all walks of life paid condolences to the bereaved family.
Members of the prestigious Aba Sports Club 1926 including Chief Michael Okonkwo (Greatmas) and his lovely wife, Edith fondly called Big Mummy, Chief Sir Emma Obi (CEO, Maobison Inter-Link) and Owelle Greg Okafor (Chairman, Oris Group/Ibiza Hotel and Resorts, Aba) condoled their member, Engr. Chief Ejikeme Eberechukwu Nwaogu (Omeudo) and his siblings on the death of their beloved mother and prayed God to comfort them.
The burial ceremony tagged, “A Celebration of Life” lived up to expectations in all ramifications.
Hon. Chief Iheyinna Mgbeahuru (Ugosinachi) and his siblings (Mr. Uzoma Obiora Nwaogu, Lady Chioma Adaku Anucha, Mr. Ndubuisi Obioma Nwaogu, Engr. Chief Ejikeme Eberechukwu Nwaogu (Omeudo) and Mrs. Ngozi Chinwe Ogbunkwu spared no effort or resources to give their beloved mother who meant a lot to them a befitting burial that is second to none in the area.
There was more than enough to eat and drink despite the prevailing economic hardship across the nation.
The unprecedented crowd of people and esteemed guests were treated to the best of cuisines, choice drinks and quality entertainment. The bereaved family also gave out expensive souvenirs in memory of their beloved mother.
Ezinne Lolo Evelyn Ugochi Nwaogu Mgbeahuru’s burial was a true reflection of who she was during her lifetime and will remain the talk of the town for a very long time to come.
In a chat with newsmen, Hon. Chief Iheyinna Mgbeahuru said that they celebrated their precious mother in a grand style as a token of their appreciation for bringing them up in the way of God and nurturing them to greater heights in the society.
Ezinne Lolo Evelyn Ugochi Nwaogu Mgbeahuru (Nee Anyahuru) was the daughter of the founder and first Bishop of the Apostolic Christian Church Mission (ACCM), Joseph Anyahuru and his wife, Elizabeth. She was born on August 8, 1948 and died early this year at the age of 76 years.
She married her heartthrob, the late Chief Benjamin Nwaogu Mgbeahuru of Umunoma village in Amavo Nkwogu Autonomous Community, Osisioma Ngwa LGA in 1967 and their marriage was blessed with six lovely children (four males and two females).
Her burial attracted the presence of the high, the mighty and the low including the Archbishop of Aba Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop, Diocese of Isiala Ngwa South (Anglican Communion), His Grace, the Most Rev. Isaac Chijioke Nwaobia (PhD, JP), Senator Darlington Nwokeocha, Engr. Sir Enyinnaya Chima Nwafor, the YPP Governorship candidate in Abia State in the 2023 election, Hon. Prince Uzor Nwachukwu, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abia State, Hon. Fyne Ahuama, the member representing Osisioma Ngwa South State Constituency,
Hon. Chief Chidi Agu, the Mayor of Osisioma Ngwa LGA and his Deputy, Hon. Victor Ugochukwu Nwaogu, Hon. Nwagbara Chiemela Iheanacho, the Mayor of Ugwunagbo LGA, Rt. Hon. Bishop Kennedy Njoku, Hon.
