HRM Eze Amb. Ezenwoke Enyinnaya Anaba Celebrates 27 Years on the Throne
The palatial country home of HRM Eze Amb. Ezenwoke Enyinnaya Anaba (JP), the Uju 111 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom in Obingwa local government area of Abia State was agog on Monday, April 21, 2025 as he celebrated his 27 years on the throne with unprecedented pomp.
The epoch-making occasion attracted the presence of distinguished personalities, traditional rulers, friends, relatives and others from far and near.
In his opening remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Barr. Chinenye Chinyere Emelogu thanked the celebrant and the entire royal family for finding him worthy to chair the occasion describing it as a great honour.
He applauded the renowned business mogul, real estate giant, consummate philanthropist and a key player in the nation’s oil and gas sector for his remarkable achievements in Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom since he ascended the throne 27 years ago.
He described the celebrant as a quintessential traditional ruler and a very good family man stressing that HRM Eze E. E. Anaba was so fond of his late wife, Ugoeze Peace Anaba to the extent that you cannot see him anywhere without her beside him.
He urged all those present to stand up for a minute silence in her memory and prayed God to grant her soul eternal rest till they meet to part no more.
He disclosed that they would write a book to be published and launched in honour of the celebrant during his 30 years on the throne.
He thanked God for sustaining him on the throne for 27 years and wished him many more years ahead.
In his address, the chairman of the Planning Committee, Hon. Prince Alex Anaba described his father, HRM Eze Amb. E. E. Anaba as a dynamic and visionary traditional ruler endowed with native intelligence, charisma, humility and remarkable leadership qualities.
He lauded him for his uncommon benevolence over the years adding that it has endeared him to the people and earned him the prestigious Chieftaincy title of ‘Onwa na Agbara Oha 1’ of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom, which was conferred on him in 1986 by the late HRH Eze Abel Okezie.
He recalled that HRM Eze Anaba’s journey to the throne began after the death of HRH Eze Abel Okezie, the Uju 11 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom following the controversies and litigations that characterized his succession.
He noted that the people of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom beckoned on him after sometime to come and be their next traditional ruler, which he accepted.
He said that he received his staff of office from the then military administrator of Abia State, Col. Anthony Obi in 1998 adding that the community has witnessed tremendous development in the past 27 years of his reign including free grading of roads, scholarship awards to many indigent students, empowerment of widows and the less-privileged to mention but a few.
At the end of his address, he prayed God to grant him long life, good health and more wisdom as he pilots the affairs of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom to greater heights in the years ahead.
In his response, the celebrant, HRM Eze E. E. Anaba expressed profound gratitude to God for keeping him alive on the throne for 27 years as well as his numerous guests and fellow traditional rulers for coming to rejoice with him and his family.
He prayed God to grant them safe journey back to their different destinations.
Highlights of the occasion were cutting of the 27th coronation anniversary cake and conferment of chieftaincy titles on some well-deserving individuals including High Chief Oliver Anosike, the Aguwa Ndi Eze 1 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom, Chief Chigozie Mark, the Ochiriozuo 1 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom, Uzochukwu Joseph Nworji, the Onwa Netiri Oha, Friday Chigozirim Amike, the Ome Udo 1 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom, Eberechi Nosike, the Ugo Ebe Gi N’Aja 1 of Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom among others.
In their separate speeches, all those who received chieftaincy titles expressed profound gratitude to HRM Eze Amb. E. E. Anaba and the entire Mgboko Amairi Ancient Kingdom for the honour done them.
They wished him long life, good health and prosperity assuring him of their unalloyed support towards the development of the community.
The ceremony was a huge success and attracted the presence of the following personalities, HRM Eze Nelson Nmerengwa (First Deputy Chairman, Abia State Traditional Rulers Council), HRM Eze Franklin Nwosu (Second Deputy Chairman, Abia State Traditional Rulers Council), HRH Eze Adolphus Esinwoko Abakwue (Chairman, Obingwa Council of Traditional Rulers), HRM Eze Monday Ugbor, HRH Eze Ngozi Matthias Nwoke, HRH Eze King Ugochukwu Iheonunekwu, HRH Eze Nnamdi Njoku, HRH Eze Okechukwu Okwandu, HRH Eze Enyeribe Onwin Ahuekwe, Okwubunka Mark, Hon. Ezinwa Nkire Abiri, Godwin Adindu, Mazi Stanley Nwahiwe, Hon. Esinna Ogbonna among others.
The Vivacious Ladies including Viva Lolo Uche and Viva Ijwhite were not left out. They came in their numbers to honour their patroness, Princess Amaka Viva Ijblack Anaba. Their presence in their resplendent uniform added glamour to the occasion.
The occasion climaxed with unforgettable reception.
Culinary expert, Joe Gold Kitchen served a diverse array of sumptuous cuisines and assorted choice drinks that were consumed throughout the occasion.
In a chat with newsmen, Prince Obinna Godson Anaba (a.k.a. Captain Obai) described the celebration as a thing of joy and thanked God for sustaining his father on the throne for 27 years, even though, his mother, Ugoeze Peace Anaba is no more.
He lauded him for steering the community to greater height over the years and prayed God to grant him long life, more wisdom, knowledge and prosperity to continue.
