Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council Holds 2024 End of Year Get-together
The Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council celebrated its End of Year Get-together on Monday, December 9, 2024.
The colourful occasion held at the All Ngwa Cultural Organization (ANCO) Hall, No. 1, Industry Road, Aba.
It commenced with an opening prayer by Ogbonna Ben, a lecturer at Abia State College of Health Sciences and Management Technology (ABCOHMAT), Aba.
In his homily, captioned ‘Rejoice in the Lord’ taken from Philippians 4:4,5, the Chairman of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council, Hon. Elder Uchenna Ahuruonye expressed profound gratitude to God for leading them safely from January to December, 2024.
The renowned Revenue Consultant and Director of Chicotas (Nig.) Ltd said that they are happy to come together as one and assured them of their unwavering commitment to remain their brother’s keeper and to pursue goals that would enhance their lot and the entire Ngwa land.
He appreciated members of the Association for their steadfastness stressing that the Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council has come to stay.
He said that the Association is now duly registered at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja adding that it has also printed its Constitution, which he said would be launched during their End of Year Get-together in December next year.
He enjoined the members to put all their trust in God and rejoice at all times no matter what they are passing through adding that God will never allow them to be put them to shame.
He noted that things are generally difficult this year but expressed confidence that God would see them through all their numerous challenges.
He told them to remember where they are coming from and make sure that they remain united so as to achieve their goals instead of perambulating from left to right.
He wished them safe journey to their various destinations during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Thereafter, Dr. Chijoke Nwachukwu delivered a lecture on Peptic ulcer. He said that Peptic ulcer is a sore in the stomach and went ahead to point out its symptoms, causes, diagnosis, treatment and more.
According to him, some of the symptoms include difficulty in swallowing food, nausea and vomiting while it can be caused by bacteria and long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) – a type of medication such as aspirin and ibuprofen used often for headaches, period pains and other pains.
He noted that the drugs are available at roadside chemists and drug stores and warned them of the potential dangers to their health by taking them without prescription.
He also attributed the cause of Peptic ulcer to genetic factors as well as stress, smoking, excessive alcohol intake, diet among others.
He advised them to avoid the use of NSAIDs, processed meat, fried food and flavourings that may cause the stomach to produce acid.
He rounded off his lecture by telling the people to eat well in order to live longer after which he entertained some questions from the audience.
In his speech, the President General of All Ngwa Cultural Organization (ANCO), Elder Dr. Sunny Nwosu thanked God for preserving their lives to celebrate this year’s End of Year Get-together despite the prevailing economic hardship across the nation.
He expressed satisfaction with the large turnout and commended members of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters for their steadfastness over the years.
He told them to be punctual at their meetings, participate actively in all the activities of the Association and bring more people to join them.
He described Ngwa people as one and urged them to continue to remain united and avoid anything that would cause disharmony among them.
Speaking, the Vice Chairman of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council, Barr. Eluwa Friday Chinyendu thanked God for sparing their lives throughout the year and making it possible for them to celebrate their End of Year Get-together.
He said that the Association is committed to the good of all Ngwa people. He expressed delight that the Association has been incorporated at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abuja, stressing that it is now a corporate entity, which can sue and be sued.
He urged members of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council to be worthy Ambassadors of the Association wherever they are and to always allow themselves to be guided in all they say or do by their Motto: “Upholding the Dignity of the Ngwa Man”.
On his part, the treasurer of Isiala Ngwa Sons and Daughters Supreme Council, Elder Ezeji Chibudo Apollos thanked God for His mercies upon their lives and the Association stressing that they would continue to wax stronger despite all odds by the grace of God.
He urged members of the Association to remain united and committed to actualizing their lofty goals.
Highlights of the occasion were the dedication of the Association’s Constitution by Bishop Elijah Okeiyi Elijah of Grace House International Assembly Inc and registration of new members.
The occasion was well attended and climaxed with an unforgettable reception.
