Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe Goes Home with Pomp
Agbor Igbere in Bende local government area of Abia State witnessed an unprecedented influx of people from all walks of life as the remains of Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe were laid to rest at her late husband’s compound, Ndi Agwu Agbor Igbere on Saturday, June 28, 2025 after a funeral service conducted by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St. Stephen Parish, 150/154 Dan Fodio Road, Aba.
In his sermon titled, “What is Life”, Rev. Ike Okorie said that the death of Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe reminds them that the day of salvation is near and urged those present to surrender their lives to Christ because tomorrow may be too late.
He noted that life without Christ is vanity and encouraged all to run the race of life well so that their names would be found in the Book of Life.
He also enjoined the people to put all their trust in God and stop boasting with their wealth, power, knowledge, beauty, the occult and things like that stressing that those things would not save them from death.
At the end of his sermon, he prayed God to comfort the bereaved family and urged them to take solace in the fact that their mother died in the Lord.
There was an offering to support the family, which was received by Emenike Onuoha on behalf of the entire family.
He appreciated the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St. Stephen Parish, Aba for their presence, prayers and support and prayed that God would continue to be with them and lead everyone that attended the burial safely back to their various destinations.
Immediately after interment, the whole place turned to a carnival of sorts. There was great merriment, dancing and paying of condolences by various groups.
The arrival of the deceased’s in-laws from Amiyi-Obinohia in Isuikwuato local government area of Abia State added glamour to the burial as they thrilled all in attendance with spectacular performances in honour of the deceased.
Members of His Glory Bible Church Inc at No. 99 Ulasi Road, Aba were not left out. They came in their numbers including Chinasa Roseline Kalu, Elder Wilson Agomuo, Ifeanyi Isaac and others to commiserate with their members, Pastor Kingsley Amaechi and his wife, Evangelist Olivia Chidinma Kingsley and the entire family on the burial of their beloved mother, Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe who they described as a very good and cheerful woman.
In her glowing tribute, Evangelist Olivia Chidinma Kingsley described the death of her mother-in-law as deeply painful, but found solace in the impactful and godly life she lived.
She said that she was a role model whose love, compassion, generosity and godly devotion would continue to be remembered by all who knew her.
He prayed for God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss as well as to emulate her exemplary Christian life.
She expressed profound gratitude for the overwhelming love and support she received from her brothers and sisters, especially Obioma and the CEO of Cassientialz Integrated Services, El-Shaddai Blessing Sharon Oleka (a.k.a Mummy ‘Odogwu’) who came all the way from Lagos with their children including their friends from Owerri, the capital city of Imo State namely, Mrs. Amarachi Fred with her children and Mrs. Oluchi Mbata, Engr. Chinyereugo Ugwanyi who came from Bayelsa State, Rev. Princess Ugwanyi, Arc. Ndubuisi Ben and his sister, Ihuoma, Mrs. Caroline Iheme, Roseline Ikpo, Hon. Gillian Ikokwu, Chibuzor Onwunasonye, Ndubuisi Orji, Chika Etolihu and others too numerous to mention.
She said that the massive turnout was a testament to her exemplary life and uncommon benevolence adding that she touched so many lives.
Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe passed on to glory in the early hours of February 9, 2025 at Aba following a brief illness.
She was aged 77 (1948-2025) and survived by Onuoha Igwe, Pastor Amaechi Kingsley, Emenike Igwe, Ifeanyi Igwe, Chinonso Igwe, daughters in-law (Oyediya Onuoha, Evangelist Olivia Chidinma Kingsley, Mrs. Lydia Nene Ifeanyi), many grandchildren including Emmanuel Kingsley, Precious, Excel, Chioma Vicky Onuoha among others.
Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, St. Stephen Parish, 150/154 Dan Fodio Road, Aba.
She was decorated with the prestigious Ezinne Award in 2017 in recognition of her services to God and humanity.
Popularly known as “Nma Yori Yori”, “Nma Onny” and “Nma Mbaise Road”, Lolo Ezinne Vicky Nnenna Igwe belonged to so many groups during her lifetime including Akaji Ebiri 1 Age Grade, Igbere, Igbere Welfare Union and Agbor Women, Igbere.
