SBMT Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba Honours Emma Odimegwu (Blessed Sunny Peak)
The School of Business and Management Technology (SBMT), Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, has honoured Hon. Emmanuel Chimaobi Odimegwu, popularly known as Blessed Sunny Peak, with a prestigious Certificate of Participation and Sponsorship during the maiden edition of its Research Exhibition for SBMT students.
The event took place at the institution’s auditorium on Thursday, August 14, 2025.
Presenting the certificate, the Dean of SBMT, Dr. Chinweoke Nwaeze, commended Hon. Odimegwu for his unwavering support and generous sponsorship of the landmark event.
Dr. Nwaeze described the certificate as a recognition of Odimegwu’s hard work, commitment to academic excellence, and uncommon philanthropy.
“This recognition is a testament to your dedication and selfless contributions. It is well-deserved and we believe it will inspire others to emulate your good works,” the Dean remarked.
In his response, Hon. Emmanuel Odimegwu—renowned business mogul, philanthropist, two-time chairman of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, and proud alumnus of the Polytechnic—expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour.
He thanked God, the Dean, and the entire staff and students of SBMT for the initiative, describing the exhibition as a groundbreaking event not only for the institution but also for the country at large.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled by this recognition. This is indeed the first of its kind in the history of the Polytechnic and, perhaps, in Nigeria. I commend the organisers for such a noble and visionary initiative,” he said.
Reaffirming his commitment, Hon. Odimegwu pledged continued support for both SBMT and the entire Polytechnic community.
He also used the opportunity to advise the students to take their studies seriously in order to fulfill their academic goals and contribute meaningfully to society.
