Alex Otti is Prepared to Govern Abia State

The chairman of Ngwa Road Market, Aba and CEO, UNAC Ventures (Nig.) Limited, Elder Dr. Uchechukwu Anyanwu popularly known as Onyeze is not a sycophant or given to frivolities.

Whenever he says something he means it and stands by it not minding whose ox is gored.

According to the renowned Obowu-Imo State born Aba based business mogul and consummate philanthropist, the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) is the best thing that has ever happened to the God’s Own State since it was created in 1991.

“He is well prepared and eminently qualified to govern Abia State that is why he has recorded monumental achievements in all the sectors of the state, especially in road construction and rehabilitation, education, healthcare, payment of workers salary, agriculture, commerce and industry within a short time in office”, he said.

He described his mandate as divine stressing that God sent him to come and liberate Abia State from the shackles of god-fatherism, corruption and maladministration.

He noted that Dr. Alex Chioma has started very well and expressed optimism that if he sustains his incredible tempo of executing gigantic projects and huge delivery of dividends of democracy at the doorstep of Abians that the state would be the Dubai of Africa.

The popular, handsome, ebullient, eloquent, forthright, quintessential and God-fearing chairman of Ngwa Road Market, Aba said this in a chat with newsmen during the Eziukwu Road Market, Aba End of Year Prayer Summit held on Thursday, November 9, 2023.

He also spoke on other sundry issues. Excerpts.

Sir, let us meet you.
I am Elder Dr. Uchechukwu Anyanwu. I am the chairman of Ngwa Road Market, Aba as well as the vice chairman of all the markets in Aba.

How do you feel about the End of Year Prayer Summit of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba?

It is a welcome development. I commend them for realizing in the first place that they cannot do without God as well as coming together to thank God for His infinite mercies upon their lives and business. I think it is worth doing.

What is your advice to those who use charms to do business?
The man of God who conducted the programme has warned them to forsake their evil ways and embrace light because darkness can never overcome light. So I enjoin them to drop their charms and surrender their lives to God for all powers belong to God including silver and gold.

What is your impression about Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s administration in Abia State?

I have said it for the umpteenth time that the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) is well-prepared to govern Abia State right from 2015 when he contested the governorship election for the first time. You can see the big difference now between someone who is prepared and another who was not prepared. Dr. Alex Chioma Otti is not only prepared, but also eminently qualified in all ramifications to take Abia State to El dorado. That is why you are seeing the tremendous results of his good works in different parts of the state since he assumed office. Not long ago, he flagged off the reconstruction of the age-long dilapidated Port Harcourt Road, Aba. The contract was awarded to Julius Berger, a reputable construction giant in the country. This is the first time Julius Berger is coming into the state since its creation. The laudable feat has continued to attract resounding applause within and outside the state. His preparedness to transform the state was also reflected in his recent appointment of transition committee chairmen and deputy chairmen of the seventeen local government councils in the state. They are men and women of substance and integrity. They have the capacity to deliver and can even use their own personal resources to ensure that they achieve set goals or objectives. Also, if you look at the appointment of chairmen of various markets in the state you would notice that this is the first time in the history of Abia State that the government appointed traders in the various markets in the state as chairmen. Before they used to appoint their house boys and house girls or people they can remote as market chairmen. But this time, Dr. Alex Otti has stopped that mess and appointed core traders as chairmen to ensure that the markets become what they are supposed to be.

What is your advice to the government and people of Abia State?
First, my advice to the Governor of Abia State is to sustain his good works in the state and continue to wage war against corruption, which has held the state down since its creation until the battle is completely won. God has indeed liberated Abia State through Dr. Alex Otti. I call on all Abians to be patient with him and pay their taxes. Government cannot function without payment of taxes. If they pay their taxes they would continue to enjoy more dividends of democracy in the state.

What is the present situation at Ngwa Road Market, Aba under your watch?
By the grace of God, we have made tremendous impact in the market since the last time you interviewed me. For example, the traders are so happy today because the market is kept clean at all times. Without sounding immodest, I want to tell you that Ngwa Road Market is the cleanest market in Aba today. Also, there is adequate security, peace and unity in the market. So we give God all the glory and also appreciate the profound love and continued support of the Performing Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for us and all the markets in the state.

The Christmas season is around the corner. What are your best wishes for t

he traders and entire Abians?
My prayer for them is that God of the eleventh hour would remember Abia traders and the entire Abians in the remaining few weeks to Christmas and do Christmas for all of us.
