Hon. Elder Chinwendu Victor Ochiulo
(Former Executive Chairman, Isiala Ngwa North LGA/Chairman, Central Committee of the occasion)

How do you feel about today’s occasion?
I feel so happy because today would always remain indelible in my mind as we celebrated the defeat of light over darkness. Anybody who is conversant with the political history of Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency would know that today is supposed to be celebrated. I am happy and my people are happy.

How were you able to organize the grand occasion?
It was not an easy task. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe is a man of the people and we knew that so many people would come. So we took that into consideration in our plans and that really helped us to succeed. Again, when you are doing something with all your heart, you would not feel as if you are doing anything. Though it was tedious but I am happy we succeeded.

You have stood behind Hon. Ginger Onwusibe through thick and thin, now that you are celebrating his victory can you tell us some of the things he has done since he got into the House of Representatives?
In his first 100 Days in office, Hon. Ginger Onwusibe commissioned a three-classroom block at Ohuhu Nsulu. On two occasions in my presence, he gave out palliatives to people. As we speak, he is building a health centre and a lot other things. Hon. Ginger Onwusibe is a great achiever and outstanding legislator. His track record of performance right from his councillorship days to his tenure in the State House of Assembly and currently, his membership of the House of Representatives speak volumes of his unparalleled achievements and unquantifiable love for his people, Abia State and the nation.

What is your advice to other legislators and the nation’s political leaders?
My advice to politicians and other public office holders is to serve the people. Anybody who is interested in running for a public office should be ready to serve the people. If you do not serve the people, it means that you hate them.

How would you describe Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s performance in Abia State so far?
I lack words to explain what I have seen since Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) mounted the saddle. It is something that we have not witnessed before since the creation of Abia State.

When you hear the name, Ginger Onwusibe what comes to your mind?
I knew Hon. Ginger Onwusibe since 1999 when I was serving as a councillor in Umunneochi local government area while he was also a councillor in Isiala Ngwa North. Starting from that time, I knew Hon. Ginger Onwusibe as a good man. Even when he was in Abia State House of Assembly we heard of all the projects he attracted for his people and by the grace of God he is not going to stop as he has been elevated.

How would you describe the man, Ginger Onwusibe?
Hon. Ginger Onwusibe has been my childhood friend. He is a very positive person who believes in the masses. I am not surprised. You can see the crowd here. But most importantly is that he has come to thank God and return all glory to Him for his election victory. It was turbulent. I am happy that today he has built his trust and faith in God. So I expect as he goes to Abuja he should not forget his home base. Those things that make him tick, we need them from him and we urge him to develop them further. I wish him the best.
