The 80th Birthday and 50 years on the throne of HRM Eze (Dr.) Israel Kanu Nwabiaraije Enogwe attract a galaxy of eminent personalities from far and near

The Supreme Royal Palace of HRM Eze Dr. Israel Kanu Nwabiaraije Enogwe, the Ekwueme 1 of Abayi Ancient Kingdom in Obingwa local government area of Abia State came alive once again on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 following the grand celebration of his 80th birthday and 50 years on the throne.

The epoch-making occasion commenced with an opening prayer by Apostle Ephraim Akwarandu.

In his brief remarks, the celebrant, HRM Eze (Dr.) Nwabiaraije Enogwe appreciated all those present including members of his cabinet, his fellow traditional rulers, notable politicians and the entire people of Abayi Ancient Kingdom for gracing the occasion despite their tight schedule during the yuletide season.

He described the large turnout of guests as a clear indication of their overwhelming love and unwavering support for him over the years.

The renowned orator and longest serving traditional ruler in Abia State expressed profound gratitude to God for preserving his life for the past eighty years as well as sustaining him on the throne for fifty years in good health and uncommon oomph.

He advised the people to make God the bedrock of their lives and watch what they eat if they really want to live long.

He described his peerless oratorical prowess as a special gift from God adding that it has earned him overwhelming popularity and great respect across the nation.

In his speech, the chairman of the occasion and second son of HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe, Hon. Prince Obinna Nwabiaraije (Omara Eme) thanked all those present for identifying with them on their father’s golden coronation anniversary and 80th birthday.

The one-time Transition Committee chairman of Obingwa local government area of Abia State and legendary legal luminary expressed profound gratitude to God for keeping their father alive for 80 years in good health as well as granting him the wisdom and vision in piloting the affairs of Abayi Ancient Kingdom so remarkably for the past fifty years all to His glory and betterment of the people.

He eulogized Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe’s inimitable oratorical prowess, forthrightness, fearlessness, philanthropy and quintessential reign and promised to sustain his sterling qualities.

He appreciated all those conferred with chieftaincy titles for the honour done them describing it as well deserved.

He pointed out that his father does not confer chieftaincy titles on people indiscriminately adding that some of those who received chieftaincy titles from HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe in the past later became governors, deputy governors, senators and prominent personalities in the nation.

He urged the people of Abayi Ancient Kingdom, Obingwa local government area and Abia State to always pray for HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe as well as draw close to him in order to tap from his vast experience and fountain of wisdom.

In his remarks, the special guest of honour and distinguished senator representing Abia South, Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe popularly known as Nma Agha Ndi Igbo and Maduforo Ndi Ngwa expressed profound gratitude to God for keeping HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe alive up to eighty years as well as sustaining him on the throne for fifty years.

He described him as a selfless, visionary and quintessential traditional ruler who has brought tremendous development in Abayi Ancient Kingdom and the entire Abia State.

He wished him long life and more fruitful years on the throne and enjoined other traditional rulers in the state to emulate him.

Highlights of the occasion were the presentation of Grand King of Ngwa Land extra large-sized portrait of HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe to celebrant by the traditional rulers of Obingwa, cutting of his 80th birthday cake/50th coronation anniversary, conferment of chieftaincy titles on some well deserving individuals among others.

Some of those honoured were High Chief (Mrs.) Josephine Akudo Nwankpa, the wife of Hon. Uche Nwankpa one-time member representing Obingwa West State Constituency.

She was decorated as Odiuko na Ngwa while Super High Chief Joshua Nwokeocha bagged the chieftaincy title of Aku Enwe Ebe.

Chief Joshua Nwokeocha appreciated HRM Eze Nwabiaraije Enogwe for the honour done him and promised to contribute his own quota in moving the community to greater height.

Others include Chief Obinna Owuala, Ezumezu 1 of Abayi Ancient Kingdom and Chief Iheanyi Nwachukwu (Oji Izu Achi Mba1 of Abayi Ancient Kingdom).

The occasion was a huge success and attracted the presence of notable personalities from far and near including HRH Eze Sir Young Nwangwa, HRM Eze O. J. Ananaba, HRM Eze Monday Ugbor, HRH Eze Josiah Nwaenyoghi, HRH Eze Nnamdi Njoku, Elder Godwin Obioma Nna, Hon. Uche Nwankpa, Chief Stanhope Atulegwu Nwankpa, Josiah Nwankpa, Mazi Stanley Nwahiwe, Super High Chief Ngozi Egbulefu, Ezinne Hon. Ijeoma Ngozi, Jonathan Irondi, Hon. Chidi Atughonu, Chief (Mrs.) Uwaoma Olewengwa as well as the Mayor of Obingwa local government area, Chief Dr. Eric Egwuibe who came earlier and left for other engagements after some time.

HRM Eze (Dr.) Nwabiaraije Enogwe was born into the family of late Chief Ezeji Enogwe Usuka Wuri and Chief Deaconess Ocheze Ahudi Enogwe.

He is married to Ugoeze Joy Nwabiaraije and Ugoeze Rose Nwabiaraije. Their marriage is blessed with sixteen children (eight males and eight females) who are all doing well in their different endeavours as well as thirty six grand children.
