Eze Mbaogu Marks Coronation Anniversary with Pomp

It was pomp and ceremony as HRH Eze Dr. Chimezie Mbaogu, the traditional ruler of Ugwu Mbutu autonomy community, Owerrinta in Isiala Ngwa South local government area of Abia State celebrated his coronation anniversary.

The epoch-making making ceremony took place at his magnificent palace on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

In his welcome speech, HRH Eze Dr. Chimezie Mbaogu expressed profound gratitude to God for ushering them into the New Year in good health and expressed optimism that the New Year would bring good tidings in their life and community.

He appreciated the people including his fellow traditional rulers for gracing the occasion in their numbers.

He lauded the women for their untiring efforts in ensuring peace and unity in the community and promised to assist them with fertilizers this farming season as well as to support the less-privileged among them especially the widows.

Highlights of the occasion were cultural dance by the women of Ugwu Mbutu, news presentation and conferment of chieftaincy titles on some well deserving individuals including Chief Ifeanyi Nweze popularly known as Jaja (Osina Nwata buru Ogharanya 1 of Ugwu Mbutu), Chief Obinwanne Ugwunna from Mbaise in Imo State (Ome Ego Osina Nwata) and Double Chief Engr. Enyinnaya Ehiemere from Eziala Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State (Ohamadike 1 of Ukwu Mbutu).

In his response, Chief Ifeanyi Nweze, a renowned philanthropist and Port Harcourt-based business mogul appreciated HRH Eze Dr. Chimezie Mbaogu for the honour done him and promised not to disappoint the confidence reposed in him.

Also, Chief Obinwanne Ugwunna expressed profound gratitude to the traditional ruler for the prestigious chieftaincy title conferred on him and promised to always support him and the entire community.

On his part, Double Chief Engr. Udo Enyinnaya thanked HRH Eze Dr. Chimezie Mbaogu for honouring him and promised to contribute his own quota to the development of the community.

The well-attended occasion climaxed with great merriment.
