The popular Ariaria International Market, Aba held its Opening of the Year Prayer on Thursday, February 22, 2024.

The solemn assembly with the theme, “The Only God and Lord” taken from Isaiah 44:6 was organized by the God’s Altar – a non-denominational movement the market in collaboration with the executive of Ariaria International Market, Aba to appreciate God for His goodness upon their lives and businesses as well as to celebrate the good works of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) in the market and the entire state within a very short time in office.

The programme took place at A-Line junction, Ariaria International Market, Aba. The big and bustling market was closed for business that day and the traders including some business moguls and other notable personalities from far and near turned out in their numbers to praise God.

 

The chairman of Ariaria International Market, Aba, Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia set the tone for the programme as he led the ecstatic traders in a praise and dancing session unto God.

In his homily, the Guest Preacher, Ven. Udo Obioma commended the traders for putting God first in their lives and businesses adding that God would continue to bless them in all ramifications.

He thanked God for delivering Abia State from the hands of bad leaders and assured the traders that the present Dr. Alex Chioma Otti-led administration of the state has so many good plans for them and urged them to sustain their support for his administration.

He urged those who use charms to do business in the market or plan evil against their fellow traders to refrain from such bad practice and surrender their lives to God.

He said that they are going to dismantle any evil altar that was still standing in the market and asked all those present to lift up their right hand and sing to the glory of God declaring that they would live and see the goodness of the Lord upon their lives and businesses.

He declared that any kingdom that would rise against them would be destroyed in the name of Jesus and asked them to pray for God to send a destroying wind against any altar of the enemy in the market.

Thereafter, he prophesied that Ariaria International Market, Aba would soon surpass Dubai by the grace of God.

He assured the traders that it shall be well with them and urged them to conduct their business with truth and righteousness stressing that it shall be well with those who do business with the fear of God.

He pointed out that there is only one God and Lord and warned any evil man or woman that has tried to frustrate the prayer in Ariaria Market, Aba over the years thinking that he or she has succeeded to know that God was waiting for an appointed time to destroy their evil deeds.

He announced that the appointed time has come-the season of divine judgement and proclaimed that the altar of the One and Only living God would swallow other altars.

He enjoined them not to get tired of serving God adding that this year’s opening prayer is not a coincidence. He stated that God arranged this year for something special in the market.

He said that irrespective of the prevailing economic hardship in the nation that there though would be rejoicing at their end of the year prayer assuring them that their Redeemer, the Omnipotent God liveth.

He charged the traders to worship God in truth and righteousness assuring them that God would not disappoint them.

He told them that their lives would become ten times better in this 21st year and 38th edition of their prayer programmes in the market stressing that what seemed impossible to them over the years would be made possible and their history would turn around.

At the end of his homily, he rededicated the altar of God in the market as an altar of glory and an altar that has no equal.

Thereafter, he declared total deliverance to those in bondage, miraculous healing to the afflicted and staggering prosperity to the traders adding that they would experience the hand of God both in their lives and businesses before the year runs out.

He prayed for the executive and entire traders of the market, the state government and the nation asking God to take absolute control of the challenges facing them.

He called on those who want to surrender their lives to God to leave their seats and come forward saying that it is only the wise that seek God.

He also prayed for them and enjoined them to take their determination to serve God very serious, henceforth.

 

 

 

In his remarks, the chairman of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, chairman of all market chairmen in Aba and ASMATA President, Chief Alphonsus E. Udeigbo appreciated the executive of Ariaria International Market, Aba and the entire traders for honouring God in the market.

He prayed God to bless them and their business.

He urged them to sustain their support for Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s administration by paying all government approved levies in order to do more for Abia traders.

 

Speaking, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Dr. Chikezie Isaac Ukaegbu ably represented by the Director of Commerce, Mrs. Jane Igwe commended the executive and entire traders of Ariaria International Market, Aba for organizing the opening of year prayer and conveyed Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu’s warmest regards to the traders.

Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu said that he is proud of the traders of Ariaria International Market, Aba and urged them to sustain their unalloyed support to the present administration of the state led by Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) in transforming the state, especially Abia markets.

He assured the traders of government’s determination to transform the market and make it truly international in all respects.

He urged the traders to pay all government approved levies to enable the government to sustain its good works in the market.

He said that Dr. Alex Chioma Otti is a listening governor and urged them to remain loyal and law-abiding and always channel their complaints to the appropriate quarters instead of causing trouble in the market.

In his speech, the chairman of Ariaria International Market, Aba, Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia on behalf of the executive and entire traders expressed profound gratitude to God for ushering them into the New Year 2024 as well as bringing them together to thank Him for His goodness upon their lives and businesses.

He appreciated members of God’s Altar in Ariaria International Market, Aba for sustaining the prayer up to its present 38th edition adding that it is a sure testimony of their unwavering commitment to the service of God and humanity.

He prayed God to bless them and continue to pour more unction on them to continue to function.

He lauded the executive and zonal chairmen of the market for their unrelenting efforts in ensuring peace and stability in the market and prayed God to grant them more wisdom in the discharge of their duties.

He also commended the elders, patrons, stakeholders and entire traders of the market for their love, support and sacrifice and promised not to disappoint them. He urged the traders to join hands with them in taking the market to greater height.

He lauded the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his monumental achievements in the state within a very short time in office. He described him as God-send and a miracle road-working governor.

He appreciated him for awarding the contract for the rehabilitation of the age-long deplorable Port Harcourt Road, Aba to renowned construction giant, Julius Berger describing it as first of its kind since the creation of Abia State.

He promised to replicate Dr. Alex Otti’s good governance and policies in the state in Ariaria international Market, Aba.

Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia used the occasion to highlight some of his achievements in the market since his assumption of office last year.

According to him, the market has continued to enjoy peace and security under his leadership.

Prior to his assumption of office, he said that security men in the market used wood to block the gates.

But within a very short time in office, Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia said they mounted so many gates in the market, thus beefing-up security, which has reduced the incidence of theft in the market to nil.

Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia disclosed that the market recorded another milestone achievement in terms of cleanliness.

He said that heaps of refuse littered everywhere in the market, especially in front of Access Bank when he mounted the saddle.

But today he says with satisfaction that everywhere in the market is clean right from SAMEK Junction down to A-Line.

He said that they also desilted the drainage and carted away the rubbish in order to checkmate the perennial flooding in the market unlike in the past when after scooping the drainage the refuse would be abandoned there and whenever it rained, it would be swept back into the drainage by flood.

Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia maintained that cleanliness is next to godliness and promised to ensure that the market is clean at all times and enjoined the traders not to litter the market indiscriminately.

To this end, he pointed out that there is a notice at all the gates in the market known as “Operation Pick and Dispose’ as well as provision of many receptacle buckets for refuse evacuation, which has made every surrounding in the market so neat.

Furthermore, he said that they have mapped out three Thursdays of every month to clean the market including that of every last Friday of the month of the state government.

He disclosed that their taskforce team is always on duty to enforce compliance and advised the traders to lock their shops and participate in the clean-up exercise to avoid sanction.

He attributed the perennial flooding of the market to dumping of refuse like pure water sachet and other rubbish and urged the traders to refrain from such unpatriotic habit.

He assured the traders that flood menace in the market would soon be a thing of the past as the state government has promised to come to their rescue.

He unfolded their plans of installing solar light in the entire market to ensure adequate security and reduce the incidence of theft.

Speaking further, Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia informed the traders of their decision to launch a website in the market to boost commercial activities via
e-marketing, e-banking, e-directory, which means that the traders would nowbhave sites to advertise their businesses.

He also dropped the hint that work on their new secretariat (AIMATA House) would take off soon adding that their present office is almost submerged in flood.

Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia expressed profound gratitude to God for making their opening prayer of the year a huge success and prayed that God would continue to bless them more abundantly with His riches and glory.

He prayed for Dr. Alex Otti asking God to bless him, guide him, give him more wisdom, long life, prosperity as well as to surround him with people who mean well for him and Abia State.

He commended the Mayor of Aba North local government area, Ide John Udeagbala for his support and able way he is piloting the affairs of the council and prayed God to be with him.

On the impact of the opening prayer in the market over the years, Comrade Ozoekwe Chikadibia said that Abia State is known as God’s Own State and Ariaria can never be left out.

To this end, he said that they have to begin with God at the beginning of every year because they put God first in everything they do so that God would make a way for them.

According to him, they pray to God on such occasion to give them wisdom and strength to achieve positive results in the market adding that when God gives them courage and dexterity they would overwhelm the devil and their enemies and forge ahead to achieve their goals in the market.
