Tears Flow As Royalties International Christian School Aba Bids Farewell to Beloved Teacher, Glory Charles
The serene Amankwo Mbutu Autonomous Community in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State was enveloped in grief as family members, relatives, in-laws, friends including the Management and Staff of Royalties International Christian School—one of Aba’s leading citadels of learning—gathered to pay their last respects to Mrs. Glory Charles, a dedicated, passionate, and inspirational teacher.
The Royalties International Christian School, led by the Managing Director, Pastor Abraham Omuso, and his wife/Academic Director, Deaconess Charity Omuso, turned out in large numbers, arriving with the school bus and the CEO’s private vehicle to honour their late colleague.
The emotion-soaked funeral ceremony held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her husband’s country home in Amankwo Mbutu, drew tears from mourners who struggled to come to terms with her sudden demise.
The final journey of the deceased began with the departure of her remains from Mighty Moon Mortuary, Umuikaa, to her husband’s compound, where they were received with deep sorrow.
Her body was laid in-state to allow mourners pay their last respects to a woman whose life embodied humility, service, and godliness.
The funeral service was officiated by His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Dr. Favour I. M. Ubani of Ever Ready Prophetic Church Worldwide, assisted by Evangelist Chijioke.
In his stirring homily, Bishop Ubani described death as “a blessing when one dies in the Lord but a tragedy when one dies without salvation.”
He urged Christians not to fear death, reminding them that those who have Christ are confident of their eternal destination.
He consoled the bereaved family, assuring them that Mrs. Glory Charles had gone home to rest in God’s bosom.
Tributes poured in from all sides. In his testimony, Paul Chidi expressed deep sorrow, describing her death as a rude shock.
Chief Mark Metu, speaking on behalf of the landlords and tenants at Abayi, Aba, where the deceased lived, described her as “loving, amiable, caring, respectful, humble, peaceful, and God-fearing.”
He said her death had created a painful vacuum in the lives of her husband and all who knew her.
He emphasized the inevitability of death and admonished Christians to focus not on how long they live but whether they live and die in Christ. He noted that Glory “fought a good fight of faith and finished her race well.”
Speaking on behalf of the Management and Staff of Royalties International Christian School with deep emotion, the Head Teacher, Ms. Amaka Opara, described Glory as “a humble, honest, peaceful, hardworking and God-fearing teacher—an embodiment of service and humanity.”
She noted that Glory was more than a teacher; she was a mentor, a mother figure, and a pillar of strength within and outside the school.
According to her, “though her passing has left a painful void, her values, work ethic, team spirit, humility, and unwavering kindness remain etched in the hearts of the management, staff and pupils of the school.”
She prayed for God’s comfort and protection over the family and the school community.
After the funeral service, the remains of Mrs. Glory Charles were committed to mother earth in her husband’s compound amid tears, hymns, prayers, and heartfelt tributes.
The atmosphere was charged with emotions as mourners celebrated a life marked by compassion, professionalism, and a genuine love for children and education.
Her husband thanked everyone for their presence, support, and prayers, especially the Management and Staff of Royalties International Christian School, whom he praised for standing by the family “beyond measure” during their moment of grief. He prayed for safe journeys back to their various destinations.
Mrs. Glory Charles, who passed away on July 25, 2025, at the age of 26, made a profound impact in her short but meaningful life. She is survived by her husband, mother, siblings, and numerous relatives.
The funeral drew education stakeholders, community leaders, and sympathizers from far and near—an undeniable testament to the beautiful life she lived and the legacy she left behind.
