The popular Eziukwu Road Market, Aba was aglow on Thursday, November 9, 2023 as it held its End of Year Prayer and Thanksgiving Service to appreciate God for His goodness upon their lives and businesses as well as to celebrate the good works of the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) in Eziukwu Road Market, Aba within a very short time in office.

The well-attended programme was officiated by the General Overseer of Jesus Holy Ghost Ministry. Enugu State, Dr. Bro. Linus Onyia assisted by Bro. Uchenna Ihennekwe and Evangelist Moses Osinakachi Ojeh.

The bustling market was closed for business that day and the traders including some business moguls and other notable personalities from far and near turned out in their numbers for the solemn assembly.

In his sermon, Dr. Bro. Linus Onyia commended the traders of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba for establishing the presence of God in the market.

He said that God is a miracle working God to all who acknowledge His Supremacy and urged those who use charms to do business in the market to throw them away and surrender their lives to God.

Thereafter, he declared total deliverance to those in bondage, miraculous healing to the afflicted and staggering prosperity to the traders adding that they would experience the hand of God both in their lives and businesses before the year runs out.

He extolled the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for his remarkable achievements in the state, especially the rehabilitation of Cemetery Road, Aba, which he said was a death-trap before.

The End of Year Prayer and Thanksgiving Service featured special prayers for the market leaders, traders of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, the government and people of Abia State as well as offering, presentation of a big live he-goat and yam tubers to the guest preacher and his fellow ministers.

In his address, the chairman of the Interim Management Committee of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo said that they organized the prayer and thanksgiving service to hand over the traders and their customers to God as well as to celebrate the good things that have happened in the market within a very short time of his leadership, such as the rehabilitation of the deplorable Cemetery Road, Aba and the commencement of the second phase of the road from Omuma to Osusu Road, Aba.

He attributed these milestone achievements to the grace of God, and not by his might.

He extolled Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s giant strides in the state, especially his numerous completed road projects in different parts of the state describing him as God-sent and a miracle road-working governor.

He appreciated him for rehabilitating the age-long deplorable Cemetery Road, Aba within his first sixty days in office as well as the commencement of the second phase.

The elated chairman described himself, the executive and entire traders of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba as highly favoured adding that Eziukwu Road Market, Aba is the first market in the state to benefit from Dr. Alex Otti’s quality leadership and road construction/rehabilitation projects in the state.

Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo also expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Alex Chioma Otti for reducing their internally generated revenue from N22, 000.00 to N18, 000.00 and assured him of their total support to his administration.

Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo used the occasion to highlight some of his achievements in the market so far.

According to him, the market has continued to enjoy peace and security under his able leadership.

He disclosed that the market under his watch inaugurated stakeholders forum of the market comprising men of integrity and the zonal chairmen to assist in the smooth running of the market as well as to sustain the peace and security achieved in the market.

Speaking further, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo who is also the chairman of all chairmen of Aba markets intimated the traders of their decision to launch a website for the market to boost commercial activities as well as to install CCTV cameras at strategic points in the market to ensure that the incidence of theft is reduced to nil.

He announced that the security of the market formerly in the hand of Abia State Vigilante popularly known as Bakassi has been replaced by Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) with immediate effect.

The announcement was greeted with resounding applause by the traders.

He also said that the traders of Eziukwu Road Market, Aba would have identity cards starting from January next year if he is still in-charge.

Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo expressed profound gratitude to God for making the End of Year Prayer and Thanksgiving Service a huge success and prayed that God would continue to bless them more abundantly with His riches and glory.

He prayed for Dr. Alex Otti asking God to bless him, guide him, give him more wisdom, long life, prosperity as well as to surround him with people who mean well for him and Abia State.

Speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Internally Generated Revenue, Mazi Chimeremeze Okeigbo described the End of Year Prayer as a welcome development, which would transform the lives and fortunes of the traders tremendously.

He commended the traders for putting God first in their lives and businesses and prayed that God would continue to be with them always, especially during the forthcoming Yuletide and New Year celebrations.

He appreciated God for delivering Abia State from the shackles of bad leadership and assured the traders that the present administration of the state under the able leadership of Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has so many good things in store for them and urged them to give him their total support by paying their taxes and all government approved levies so that the government can have money to do more works for them and the state at large.

He advised the executive of the market to lead by example and avoid anything that would cause problem in the market as well as to protect the infrastructure that the government has put in place in the market.
