HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh’s Coronation Pulls Crowd
Friday, December 8, 2023 was a memorable day in the annals of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community in Osisioma Ngwa local government area of Abia State.
On that day the people of Isingwu Mbutu, friends, well-wishers, in-laws, traditional rulers, government officials, politicians, captains of industry, the clergy, butchers, okada riders, cultural troupes, social clubs and others gathered in their numbers to witness the coronation of HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh, the Ngwu 11 of Isingwu Mbutu.
The well-attended ceremony took place at his Udo Ka Nma Palace under the distinguished chairmanship of the President General of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community and retired Permanent Secretary of Health, Abia State, Elder High Chief G. O. Azu (JP).
The epoch-making occasion commenced with a brief praise and worship session conducted by Senior Apostle Friday Ifeanyichukwu Marcus of Apostolic Christian Church Mission (ACCM), 34 Omuma Road, Aba.
In his sermon taken from 1Samuel 16:1 and 1 Kings 1:32 titled, ‘The Kingship Stool’, he said that only God enthrones kings stressing that if it is not God’s will there is no way HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh would have emerged the traditional ruler of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community.
He described HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh as humane, intelligent and well-prepared for the throne and urged him to lead the people with the fear of God.
In his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Elder High Chief G. O. Azu (JP) thanked God for making the coronation a reality.
He described HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh as a humble, dependable, intelligent, hardworking and God-fearing man and urged him to make God the bedrock of his rulership.
He expressed delight to be associated with HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh adding that he was in the vanguard of the struggle right from the beginning to the end.
According to him, HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh served as the Traditional Prime Minister to their late traditional ruler, HRH Eze Sunday Chijioke Azu.
He disclosed that HRH Eze Sunday Chijioke Azu handed over to him even while he was still alive adding that he did not emerge as the second traditional ruler of the community by chance.
He said that having served their late traditional ruler very well, he blessed him to a point that the deceased’s entire family, which he is now the head under his supported HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh to actualize his aspiration.
High Chief G. O. Azu commended the people for gracing the occasion in their numbers as well as their numerous guests from far and near.
Thereafter, he craved the indulgence of all those present to observe a minute silence in honour of their departed pioneer traditional ruler, HRH Eze Sunday Chijioke Azu.
He eulogized him for providing a shining example of true leadership as well as his remarkable achievements, which he said would serve as a roadmap for their new traditional ruler.
He said that the community has continued to enjoy peace and unity since its creation on December 25, 2001 and expressed optimism that HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh would lead Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community to greater height.
Elder High Chief G. O. Azu called on the people of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community both at home and in the Diaspora to support HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh irrespective of their personal preferences or differences adding that God alone enthrones kings.
He also enjoined them to always pray for him and his cabinet.
He appreciated the people of Isingwu both the young and the old, men and women for their tenacity in moving the community forward as well as the coronation planning committee and others for their colossal sacrifice towards his successful coronation.
Speaking after his coronation, HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh expressed profound gratitude to God for making the historic day a reality.
He appreciated the people for their love and support and promised to rule them with the fear of God as well as to sustain the existing peace and unity in the community.
He also promised to take the community to the next level of development and solicited the support of everybody in the community to realize their laudable objectives.
Highpoint of the ceremony was conferment of chieftaincy titles and awards on some well deserving individuals including the President General of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community, Elder High Chief G. O. Azu (JP) who bagged the prestigious chieftaincy title of Imperial High Chief, the chairman of the Coronation Planning Committee, Hon. High Chief Bestman Nwala who received the Isiukanjiulo Nke Mbu of Isingwu Mbutu.
Others were Dr. Ubani Ukaonu (Egbe Eji Aga Ogu 1 of Isingwu Mbutu), Nzubechukwu Enwereji (Okwudire 1 of Isingwu Mbutu), Native Dr. Ngozi Chinjioke, Chief Chiedozie Amalili (Biri Kam Biri 1 of Isingwu Mbutu), Surveyor Uchenna Nwandinma, Ambassador Kingsley Udeh, Odiche Osita Chuks (Amarachinyere 1 of Isingwu Mbutu) and Lolo Kelechi Uba (Ezienyi of Isingwu Mbutu/Ochinata na Nwata).
In his speech, the Spiritual Father of the Day, Rev. Apostle Loveday Chinasa Ogbonna, the Divisional Apostle, Alaukwu na Umumgbede Division, ACCM described the ceremony as divine and well-deserved.
He described HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh as a very good man, a man of his words, a man of peace and a great lover of people.
He prayed God to give him long life, good health and wisdom to discharge his duties creditably.
For Pastor Stanley Omenai of God of Wonders Ministries who is also the chairman of PCRC, Osisioma Ngwa, the coronation of HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh would herald a new dawn in the community.
He described the traditional ruler who he said is a member of PCRC, Osisioma Ngwa as a humble, hardworking, wise and straightforward man.
He prayed God to give him wisdom to pilot the affairs of his community well and the grace to last long on the throne.
He used the opportunity to extol the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his remarkable achievements within a short time in office, especially the reconstruction of the age-long dilapidated Port Harcourt Road, Aba by Julius Berger, prompt payment of workers’ salary and elimination of touts in collection of revenue in the state.
The coronation attracted a galaxy of notable personalities including many sons and daughters of Isingwu Mbutu autonomous community.

HRH Eze John Chimezie Azuh is married to Ugoeze Blessing Obioma John Azuh and their marriage is blessed with children.
