EKEOHA CHAIRMAN EXTOLS GOVERNOR OTTI’S REMARKABLE THREE YEARS IN OFFICE
As congratulatory messages continue to pour in from far and near in celebration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti’s three years in office, Abians, residents, stakeholders and other well-meaning Nigerians have continued to acknowledge his administration’s efforts towards repositioning the state for sustainable growth and development, noting that life in the state is improving daily under his impactful and transformative leadership.
Adding his voice to the avalanche of commendations trailing Governor Alex Otti’s third anniversary in office, the Chairman of Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, Comrade Emeka Okeke, popularly known as “Mecon Global,” described Governor Otti as a God-sent leader, an inimitable pathfinder and a great achiever whose quality governance and monumental accomplishments within three years have restored hope to millions of residents and rapidly transformed Abia into an investors’ haven, a centre of excellence and a land brimming with opportunities.
Comrade Okeke stated that the people of the state remained delighted and deeply impressed by the governor’s “hypersonic achievements,” noting that Abia had continued to witness unprecedented progress since Otti assumed office in 2023.
The renowned market leader praised Governor Otti’s selfless service, fear of God and unwavering commitment to responsible governance, stressing that the governor had demonstrated what visionary and accountable leadership could achieve despite opposition from certain disgruntled elements whom he alleged never wished the state well.
According to him, “Abia has never had it this good”, adding that Governor Otti had accomplished within three years what previous administrations could not achieve in over two decades.
He noted that from his very first day in office, the governor hit the ground running by confronting the enormous challenges facing the state headlong while reassuring residents of his determination to transform Abia and improve governance for the benefit of all.
Okeke further stated that Governor Otti had consistently worked tirelessly to create opportunities for the teeming population of the state while remaining focused on delivering the dividends of democracy without distraction.
He maintained that the governor had rekindled confidence in governance, demonstrating that genuine political leadership could still deliver meaningful results when driven by sincerity, discipline and the fear of God.
According to him, Governor Alex Otti has rendered an impressive account of stewardship within the last three years, adding that the state had never witnessed such rapid development and purposeful governance since its creation in 1991.
Okeke maintained that despite distractions from opposition quarters, the governor had remained unwavering in his resolve to rebuild the state and improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
The Ekeoha chairman emphasized that Governor Otti came prepared for governance, confronting decayed infrastructure, poor public services and economic stagnation with uncommon energy and determination.
He said the results were now evident across the state through massive road reconstruction projects, improved healthcare delivery, revitalized education, enhanced security architecture and renewed commercial activities.
Okeke particularly applauded the administration’s extensive road rehabilitation efforts, describing the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road in Aba as a game changer that had revived business confidence and eased transportation challenges.
According to him, businesses and investors who previously abandoned Aba and other parts of the state due to insecurity, dilapidated roads and an unconducive business environment were gradually returning as confidence in the state’s economy continued to rise.
The quintessential market leader also commended Governor Otti’s commitment to strengthening security across Abia through the provision of operational vehicles equipped with modern communication gadgets to security agencies — a move he said had significantly enhanced efforts at tackling armed robbery, kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state.
In the area of infrastructure and public welfare, Okeke hailed the commissioning and flag-off of numerous roads and strategic projects spread across the three senatorial districts, including the newly constructed Umuahia Bus Terminal, Obingwa General Hospital, Arochukwu General Hospital and the ongoing Abia Airport project, among others.
According to him, these projects reflected the administration’s commitment to improving living conditions and expanding access to quality healthcare and other essential services.
He further applauded the administration’s intervention in environmental sanitation, noting that the era when heaps of refuse littered Aba and Umuahia had become a thing of the past.
Okeke described the renewed cleanliness across the state as another visible testament to purposeful governance, adding that Abia had become one of the neatest and most organized states in the federation.
The indefatigable market leader declared that the achievements already recorded by Governor Otti were only a glimpse of even greater transformation to come in his second term.
He therefore called on traders, youths and eligible residents across the state to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation in the democratic process remained crucial for sustaining good governance in the state.
He expressed confidence that Governor Otti’s performance and soaring popularity had already endeared him to the masses and would ultimately translate into a landslide victory in the 2027 election.
Okeke also commended the governor for creating a business-friendly environment that has enabled markets and commercial centres to flourish once again in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State.
He particularly praised the remodeling of Ekeoha Shopping Centre and other major markets in Aba, describing the interventions as bold steps towards repositioning Aba as a thriving commercial hub.
He noted that the reconstruction of key roads, especially the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road, had stimulated economic growth and revitalized commercial activities across the state.
Okeke expressed profound gratitude to God for using Governor Otti to restore normalcy and renewed hope to the people through what he described as purposeful and transformative leadership.
The Ekeoha chairman further described Dr. Alex Otti as “Chioma Ndi Abia” and a traders-friendly governor who has demonstrated genuine love and commitment to Abia traders beyond doubt.
He stated that come 2027, traders at Ekeoha Shopping Centre, Aba, would reciprocate the governor’s goodwill and remarkable gestures with overwhelming support and total votes.
He reiterated their continued support for his administration while calling on members of the opposition to set aside their differences and join hands with the governor in the collective task of building a new and better Abia.
Okeke said Governor Alex Otti had etched his name in gold in the political landscape of Abia State and beyond, expressing optimism that the state would witness even greater transformation in the years ahead.
He also prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, good health and strength upon Governor Otti and his family as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state to greater heights.
