TINUBU APPOINTS BLESSING NWAGBA SOUTH-EAST DEPUTY COORDINATOR APC 2027 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL

Hon. Dame Blessing Nwagba, PhD, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State and 2027 senatorial aspirant for Abia South, has been appointed Deputy Coordinator, South-East, of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 2027 Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

The appointment places the former Abia State governorship candidate in a strategic position within the APC’s presidential campaign structure in the South-East as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council is scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Expressing profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in her, Nwagba described the appointment as a significant responsibility and an opportunity to contribute more actively to the party’s political mobilization efforts across the South-East.

She assured the President and the APC leadership of her unwavering commitment to the assignment, pledging to work diligently with other members of the Campaign Council to mobilize support for the President and the party’s candidates in the zone.

The former two-term member of the Abia State House of Assembly and the APC senatorial candidate for Abia South in the 2023 general elections said the appointment had further strengthened her resolve to engage grassroots stakeholders, particularly women, and expand the party’s mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 elections.

Nwagba, who is the current Chairperson of the Nigerian League of Women Voters (NILOWV), Abia State Chapter, has consistently advocated greater participation of women in politics and governance.

She is also known for her grassroots mobilization activities and deep involvement in the affairs of the APC in the South-East.

She said her experience in party organization, political mobilization and electoral campaigns would be brought to bear on her new assignment as she collaborates with party leaders and stakeholders across the region.

Nwagba expressed her readiness to discharge the responsibilities of the office with dedication, discipline and a strong sense of duty, emphasizing the importance of collective effort, strategic engagement and sustained grassroots mobilization.

Nwagba previously served on the APC Presidential Campaign Council and the party’s 2022 National Convention Planning Committee.

She was also actively involved in President Tinubu’s 2023 presidential campaign activities in Owerri, Imo State, and Umuahia, Abia State, alongside other prominent party figures, including Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeocha, Betta Edu and Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye.

Reflecting on her political journey and longstanding involvement in the party, the Abia APC chieftain reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening the party’s presence in the South-East and working with fellow party members towards its objectives in the forthcoming elections.

She particularly emphasized the importance of women in political mobilization, noting that their participation would remain a major component of her engagement strategy across the region.

With her new appointment, Nwagba reaffirmed her readiness to work with the South-East leadership of the Campaign Council, party faithful, women leaders, youths and other stakeholders to advance the APC’s campaign objectives.

She reiterated her appreciation to President Tinubu for the appointment, assuring him that she would approach the assignment with loyalty, commitment, integrity and a determination to justify the confidence reposed in her.

For Nwagba, the appointment represents both recognition of her longstanding involvement in the APC and a call to greater service as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.
