JUNE 2026: HON. OBA MOSES FELICITATES ABIA RESIDENTS, HAILS ALEX OTTI’S ACHIEVEMENT-LADEN THREE YEARS IN OFFICE
The Chairman of Eziukwu Road Market Traders Association, Aba and Chairman of Chairmen of all Markets in Aba, Hon. Oba Moses, has extended warm felicitations to the people of Abia State on the commencement of the month of June 2026, while commending Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) for his remarkable achievements within three years in office.
In a goodwill message released to mark the new month, Hon. Oba expressed appreciation to Abians for their unwavering support to the present administration of the state under the quality leadership of Governor Otti as well as their resilience, industriousness, and unwavering commitment to the economic growth of the state.
He noted that the state’s thriving markets remain the backbone of Abia’s economy and urged traders, business owners, and residents to continue promoting peace, unity, and cooperation in their various places.
The quintessential market leader acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Abia State Government in creating a more conducive environment for commerce and investment.
He observed that Governor Alex Otti’s administration has continued to demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing trade and economic activities through the remodeling of major markets across Aba, rehabilitation and construction of access roads within commercial hubs, and the strengthening of security architecture across the state.
According to him, these interventions have significantly improved business operations and boosted confidence among traders and investors.
He reiterated the commitment of market leadership across the state to safeguarding the interests and welfare of traders in all the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia.
Hon. Oba further applauded Governor Otti for his monumental achievements recorded within three years in office, particularly in Aba and Umuahia. He stated that the governor has justified the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Abia during the 2023 governorship election.
He noted that the administration’s governance philosophy is built on hope, credibility, competence, transparency, and a firm determination to deliver a New Abia, emphasizing that these principles have translated into visible development projects and reforms that are impacting positively on the lives of citizens.
Highlighting some of the administration’s notable achievements, Hon. Oba pointed to the reconstruction of the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road in Aba, which he said has revitalized commercial activities and enhanced the ease of doing business in the state’s commercial city.
He also cited the construction of the ultra-modern Umuahia Bus Terminal named after Prof. Nnenna Otti, the ongoing development of the Abia Airport project, massive infrastructure renewal across the state, improved security, prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pension gratuities, environmental sanitation, reforms in education and healthcare, agricultural development programmes, and the growing confidence of investors in the state.
Hon. Oba maintained that Governor Otti has restored confidence, transparency, accountability, and dignity to governance in Abia State, thereby setting a new standard for public administration.
He also reaffirmed the unwavering support of traders across the state for the governor’s administration, assuring that market stakeholders would continue to partner with government in advancing policies and programmes aimed at sustaining economic growth and development.
Baring his mind on the 2027 election, Hon. Oba disclosed that they would intensify efforts to mobilize traders in Eziukwu Road Market and across Abia State in support of Governor Otti’s re-election bid.
He urged eligible traders and residents who are yet to register to take advantage of the ongoing final phase of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voter Card registration exercise to obtain their PVCs stressing that it is the only way for sustaining good governance and ensuring the continuity of developmental projects currently being executed across the state.
Hon. Oba concluded by expressing profound appreciation for Governor Otti’s impactful leadership and unwavering dedication to the growth and transformation of Abia State.
He offered prayers for divine wisdom, sound health, strength, and guidance for the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of the state, expressing optimism that the administration would record even greater successes in the years ahead.
