2027: ALEX OTTI HAS REDEFINED GOVERNANCE IN ABIA, DESERVES SECOND TERM -NGWA ROAD MARKET CHAIRMAN
The Chairman of the Ngwa Road Market Traders Association, Aba, Chief Munachimso Ejim, popularly known as “Okwuoto Ekene Eze Ndi Abia,” has described Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) as the most outstanding governor Abia State has produced since its creation, saying the governor’s remarkable performance has transformed the state and earned him overwhelming public support ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Chief Ejim made the remarks while speaking at the grand civic reception organized in honour of Governor Alex Chioma Otti by Imo indigenes resident in Abia State.
The event was held at the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
According to him, the gathering was not merely a ceremonial event but a sincere expression of gratitude by the people who have witnessed firsthand the transformational impact of Governor Otti’s administration across Abia State.
Describing Governor Otti as the “Talk na Do Governor,” the “Performing Governor,” and the “Only One in Town Governor,” Chief Ejim said no governor since the creation of Abia State has matched the level of commitment, vision and execution demonstrated by the present administration.
He noted that Governor Otti’s emergence in 2023 marked the beginning of a new era of purposeful leadership, stressing that the slogan, “Abia Arise… Arise for a New Abia,” has moved beyond political rhetoric to become a visible reality in the lives of the people.
According to him, the “New Abia” is no longer a campaign promise but a living experience evident in the massive infrastructural renewal taking place across the state.
Chief Ejim pointed to the reconstruction of major roads in Aba, Umuahia and other parts of the state as clear evidence of the governor’s commitment to development.
He specifically cited the once-neglected Port Harcourt Road in Aba, which had remained abandoned for years before Governor Otti reconstructed it into a modern road network now admired by residents and visitors alike.
He also listed other completed and ongoing projects, including Ohanku Road, Omuma Road, Obohia Road and several other strategic roads across Aba, as well as landmark projects such as the Professor Nnenna Otti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, describing them as enduring legacies of a government committed to improving the quality of life of the people.
He commended the Imo community in Abia State for organizing the civic reception, saying the honour reflected the widespread appreciation Governor Otti enjoys beyond ethnic and state boundaries because of his outstanding performance in office.
Chief Ejim further assured the governor of the unwavering support of traders in Ngwa Road Market and other well-meaning residents of the state, pledging that they would continue to stand behind his administration to ensure the consolidation of the ongoing developmental strides.
Looking ahead to the 2027 governorship election, he expressed confidence that Governor Otti would secure a second term, maintaining that the people of Abia would overwhelmingly re-elect him to enable him to complete the transformation of the state.
Reflecting on his previous public commentaries, Chief Ejim recalled that in one of his Facebook video broadcasts he had criticized the quality of leadership that existed in the state before Governor Otti assumed office.
According to him, he had remarked that since the creation of Abia State, the state had largely been governed by individuals he described as “Agberos” (touts), rather than competent and prepared leaders.
He, however, said Governor Otti had completely changed that narrative by bringing competence, vision, discipline and purposeful governance into public service.
He added that the governor came into office well prepared and has remained unwavering in his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to every part of the state.
Chief Ejim reaffirmed his total support for Governor Otti’s administration, insisting that the governor has justified the confidence reposed in him by the people and deserves another mandate to continue the good works already reshaping Abia State.
