2027: ALPADA MOBILIZES MASSIVE SUPPORT FOR OTTI, URGES MEMBERS TO OBTAIN PVC
As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum in Abia State, the Aba Landlords Protection Agency Development Association (ALPADA) has intensified grassroots mobilization in support of the re-election of Governor Alex Chioma Otti (OFR).
The association declared that it is leaving no stone unturned in rallying support for the governor, maintaining that his administration has performed creditably across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
In a statement jointly signed by the President General, Engr. Leonard Onyemesiri; the Secretary General, Bro. Chidi Umeh; and the President, Special Duties/Founder, Hon. Chief A. E. Udeigbo, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, executives and entire membership, ALPADA expressed strong confidence in Otti’s leadership and capacity to sustain the ongoing transformation of Abia State.
The group stated that there is “No Vacancy in the Government House, Umuahia, given what it described as the governor’s impactful and people-oriented governance.
It further stated that Abia State has witnessed remarkable progress under Otti’s administration, adding that the level of development recorded—particularly in Aba and Umuahia—has been unprecedented since the state’s creation in 1991.
ALPADA described Governor Otti as a God-sent leader whose policies and programmes have revitalized infrastructure, improved the business environment and restored public confidence in governance.
As part of its mobilization strategy, the association called on all its members to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that active participation in the electoral process remains a civic responsibility for all law-abiding citizens.
It disclosed that, beginning from January 2027, members without PVCs may not be eligible to renew their membership, underscoring the importance it attaches to electoral participation.
To facilitate this process, ALPADA announced that officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would be available at its office located at No. 11 Port Harcourt Road, Aba (First Floor) on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, to conduct PVC registration.
Furthermore, the group encouraged its members to extend the sensitization to their tenants, families and associates by urging them to take advantage of the opportunity to obtain their PVCs.
It also highlighted the ongoing e-registration of members of the Labour Party (LP) as part of broader efforts to strengthen political participation ahead of the elections.
ALPADA reiterated that its efforts are geared towards ensuring a resounding victory for Governor Otti in 2027, enabling him to consolidate on the achievements recorded during his first term and further advance the development of Abia State.
