Bishop Emeka Nwankpa Hosts Opara na Agbaa Women August Meeting in Grand Style
The women of Opara na Agbaa, Umukalu Ntigha in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State would continue to remain grateful and full of praises to their illustrious son and the General Overseer of the Chapel of Faith Bible Assembly International, Ambassador Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa for Hosting their 2024 Women August Meeting with unprecedented pomp as well as for finding time out of his ever-busy schedule to come and celebrate the memorable occasion with them in company of his wife, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Faith Nnenna Nwankpa.
The colourful occasion held at the Umuopara Umukalu Ntigha Village Hall on Friday, August 23, 2024 under the distinguished chairmanship of the Traditional Prime Minister of Umuekpe Ntigha autonomous community, Anthony Ahamefula Maduforo Ahamba (aka Nze Nwa Jesus 1).
The venue was abuzz the moment the Chief Host, Ambassador Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa, a worthy son of Umuopara Umukalu Ntigha Ancient Kingdom and the ‘Mmiri na Ezoro Oha’ 1 of Ngwa Land entered the arena majestically with his entourage including his senior aide on media/publicity, Dr. Stanley Nduaguibe.
It was an exhilarating moment for the women and the people who had arrived very early in their numbers in anticipation of his esteemed presence.
The jubilant women who dressed in the resplendent uniform donated to them by Bishop Dr. Emeka Nwankpa could not contain their excitement as they trooped out to welcome him in defiance of the downpour that day.
Their spontaneous display of love and admiration for him underscored his unquantifiable love for them, and commitment to their welfare and development of the community.
The event commenced immediately after Bishop Dr. Emeka Nwankpa and his entourage were duly seated.
In his opening remarks, the chairman on the occasion, Nze Anthony Ahamefula Maduforo Ahamba congratulated the women on their 2024 August Meeting.
He acknowledged the vital role women play in the betterment of their families and the society and called on them to continue to uplift each other, and to work together for the development of their community.
He commended them for embarking on the construction of a befitting Civic Hall in the community and encouraged all to support them to actualize their lofty dream.
He also applauded the Chief Host, Ambassador Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa for his unprecedented philanthropism and continued support to the women, the entire community and beyond and prayed for God to keep on blessing him more abundantly in all ramifications.
Thereafter, the Opara na Agbaa Women’s Development Association ably led by Mrs. Uloaku Ihuoma Anyanwu Igwebuike presented a welcome address read by the secretary, Mrs. Comfort Albert.
They thanked God for preserving their lives to celebrate their August Meeting this year despite all odds.
They appreciated their precious son and great benefactor, Ambassador Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa for coming to celebrate with them with his lovely wife as well as his unwavering commitment to their welfare and development of their community.
They thanked him immensely for hosting their 2024 August Meeting single-handedly as well as for donating a brand new uniform to them adding that he has made them proud beyond measure.
They prayed God to continue to grant him long life, good health, riches, wisdom and guidance in all his endeavours.
They reiterated their determination in building a befitting civic hall in the community and called on their sons and daughters both at home and in the Diaspora, in-laws, numerous guests and other public-spirited individuals to support them to actualize it.
Thereafter, the Guest Preacher and wife of the Chief Host, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Faith Nnenna Nwankpa delivered a brief sermon titled, “Love and Unity” taken from Psalms 133:1-3.
She described women as the backbone of every society and commended them for their incredible strength, resilience, industriousness and tireless efforts in taking care of their families, supporting one another, fostering peace, unity and development in the community.
She emphasized the importance of love and unity in the family, community, state and the nation at large and called on the women to fear God, respect their husbands, obey their leaders and love their neighbours as themselves.
She also told husbands to love their wives the way Jesus Christ loves the Church and treats them very well.
She described love and unity as a sine qua non for peace and development and frowned at the attitude of some women who disregard their husbands or rub shoulders with them all in the name of gender-equality.
She advised them to be submissive to their husbands and avoid hatred, jealousy, gossip, quarrelling, adultery, conspiracy, greed among other vices in order to build a strong, happy home and a very good society.
She urged them to inculcate good moral values in their children in order to make them and the community proud.
At the end of her sermon, she prayed God to make His word, which they have heard to bear good fruit in them and give them the resources to actualize their civic hall project.
There were short speeches during fundraising for the civic hall project.
In his remarks, the Chief Host, Ambassador Bishop Dr. Emeka Michael Nwankpa who came on time and stayed throughout the occasion commended the women for their determination to come together to build a befitting civic hall in the community.
The popular cleric, inimitable philanthropist and Managing Director of Mic-Menco International Limited described women as agents of change and a force to reckon with in the development of any community.
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Accord Party (AP) in Abia State in the 2023 election restated his unwavering support for them and lauded their colossal efforts in fostering love, unity, peace and progress in the community.
He supported the Civic Hall project with a whopping amount of money assuring them of his continued support to ensure that the project is realized.
The occasion was a huge success and featured march pass, cultural displays, recitation by Vineyard Udo, Akuko Uwa by Mrs. Loveth Gad among others.
It came to an end with great merriment and attracted the presence of so many personalities including Hon. Chiemela Ujoh, Kingsley Ogbonna, Elder Matthew Ugorji, Chief Chinedu Okeogu, Glory Emmanuel (Deputy Chair Lady, Opara na Agbaa Women Development Association), Mrs. Precious Ngozi Chinesom (treasurer) among others.
