ECHEZONA STREET VANGUARD DISTRIBUTES EXERCISE BOOKS TO ABIA SCHOOLS

The Echezona Street Vanguard for Governor Alex Otti has commenced the distribution of exercise books to pupils across selected schools in Abia State as part of its commitment to complementing the education reform programme of Governor Alex Chioma Otti.

The initiative, which kicked off on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, marks the first phase of the group’s educational outreach designed to support pupils with learning materials while reinforcing the state government’s drive to improve the quality of education.

The exercise forms part of Echezona’s broader intervention aimed at contributing to Governor Otti’s vision of building a functional, inclusive and child-centred educational system that guarantees access to quality learning opportunities for every child in Abia State.

Schools that benefited from the first phase of the distribution included Eziobu Primary School, Aba North Local Government Area; Clifford Road Primary School, Aba South; Osusu Primary School III, Aba; Community Primary School, Nenu, Obingwa Local Government Area; St. James Model School, 44 Ukaegbu Road, Ogbor Hill, Aba; Freedom Word International Academy, 11 Okpu Umobo Road, Aba; Abayi Primary School, Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area; Possible Height Academy, Ikonne; and Eziama Primary School.

The delegation was led by the State Assistant Secretary of Echezona, Mrs. Favour Felix Okafor. She was accompanied by the State Women Leader, Mrs. Sandra Ogechi John; the Assistant State Women Leader, Hon. Mrs. Agnes Urum Victor; the Aba Zonal Women Leader, Mrs. Ebere Mark; the Assistant Aba Zonal Women Leader, Miss Nweke Happiness Chisom; the Coordinator of Umuchichi Road, Mr. Umeh Andrew Ifeanyi, alongside other state and zonal officials of the organization.

Addressing teachers and pupils during the outreach, Mrs. Okafor explained that the initiative was conceived to provide practical support to school children and encourage academic excellence in line with Governor Otti’s education policy.

She expressed appreciation to the Founder of Echezona Street Vanguard for Governor Alex Otti, Fr. Christian Uchenna Anokwuru, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Policy and Intervention, for providing the vision and leadership that inspired the programme.

She also commended the State Chairman of Echezona, Hon. Michael Chijioke Amaku, popularly known as MC Boss, for initiating and coordinating the educational intervention.

Mrs. Okafor further applauded Governor Alex Chioma Otti for what she described as his transformational leadership and unprecedented investments in the education sector over the past three years.

She noted that the administration’s commitment to rebuilding public schools, improving learning infrastructure and prioritizing the welfare of pupils had restored confidence in the state’s education system.

According to her, the distribution of exercise books reflects Echezona’s determination to complement the government’s efforts by ensuring that more pupils have access to essential learning materials required for effective teaching and learning.

She stated that the organization would continue to partner with communities and educational institutions in promoting quality education, adding that investing in children remains one of the most effective ways of securing the future of Abia State.

In separate remarks, the head teachers of Eziobu Primary School, Aba North; Clifford Road Primary School, Aba South; Osusu Primary School III; and St. James Model School, Ogbor Hill, Aba, expressed gratitude to Echezona Street Vanguard for the donation.

They described the intervention as timely and impactful, noting that the exercise books would ease the burden on many parents and encourage pupils to take their studies more seriously.

The school administrators also commended Governor Alex Otti for the ongoing reforms in the education sector, observing that his administration had demonstrated a strong commitment to restoring excellence in public education through strategic investments and people-oriented policies.

The beneficiaries equally applauded Echezona Street Vanguard for identifying with schools at the grassroots and pledged their continued support for initiatives aimed at strengthening educational development across Abia State.
