Ebubedike Nworgu Bags Super High Chief Title of Nkpara Ndi Ngwa 1

It was jubilation galore as Chief Ebubedike Nworgu, an illustrious son of Umuogele, Umuakwu Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State was conferred with the prestigious Super High Chief Title of Nkpara Ndi Ngwa 1 by HRH Eze J. A. Nwaoha (KSM), the Ezuluhu 11 of Uhunaezu autonomous community, Isiala Umuezu Nvosi in Isiala Ngwa South local government area.

The epoch-making occasion took place at Eze Nwaoha’s Palace of Peace, Isiala Umuezu on Saturday, August 19, 2023 with unprecedented pomp.

As would be expected, family members, in-laws, friends, title holders and other distinguished personalities from far and near gathered at his Umuogele residence early in the morning that day.

 

They ate, drank and greatly rejoiced with Chief Ebubedike Nworgu over the revered title before departing for the venue of the memorable occasion in a convoy.

Their arrival was greeted with a fusillade of canon shots.

After paying homage to HRH Eze J. A. Nwaoha (KSM), Chief Ebubedike Nworgu and his large entourage came out and occupied the special canopies reserved for them.

As soon as HRH Eze J. A. Nwaoha (KSM) accompanied by his fellow traditional rulers and other notable personalities came out and duly seated, the occasion commenced after an opening prayer by Rev. Fr. John Ugochukwu Onyebuchi, the parish priest of St. Joseph Parish, Umuosu in Isiala Ngwa North local government area of Abia State.

It was coordinated by ace female compere, Hon. Favour Good luck (aka Ogele Abia) with panache to the admiration of all and sundry.

 

The conferment of the prestigious Nkpara Ndi Ngwa 1 on Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu after the reading of his citation by the chairman of the installation committee, High Chief Celestine E. Nwaoha (Anya Oha 1 of Ngwa land) set the whole place agog.

The colourful ceremony was performed by HRH Eze Sir J. A. Nwaoha (KSM) assisted by HRM Eze J. C Ngobi (JP), the Avosi 11 of Isiala Nvosi autonomous community and HRM Eze Charles C. Nwamara (Obioha 1 of Obieketa Ovukwu autonomous community.

They described Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu as a man of the people, legendary pacesetter and consummate philanthropist who has contributed immensely to the development of Ngwa land and betterment of the people.

They eulogized his shining virtues of honesty, humility and charity adding that the honour is well deserved, especially coming from HRH Eze Nwaoha who they said hardly confers Chieftaincy titles on people.

The traditional rulers prayed God to grant Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu wisdom, long life, good health, riches and protection.

They urged him not to relent in his good works as well as to live in harmony with his new status and to always remain a good ambassador of Ngwa land.

Speaking after receiving the Super High Chief Title of Nkpara Ndi Ngwa 1 conferred on him for his immense contributions to the development of the state and Ngwa land as well as his unprecedented philanthropy, Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu appreciated all those who graced the occasion for their love and support.

 

He described HRH Eze Nwaoha as a quintessential traditional ruler, a role model and a constant source of inspiration to so many people within and outside Ngwa land.

He recalled with nostalgia the old good days he spent with him and his family during his childhood days and assured HRH Eze Nwaoha that the great honour done him would continue to strengthen their cordial relationship.

He promised to maintain those qualities that made HRH Eze Nwaoha and the entire people of Umuezu Nvosi to bestow such outstanding honour on him adding that he would not disappoint them.

He expressed profound gratitude to God for granting HRH Eze Nwaoha the grace to remain strong and agile at a very ripe age and prayed God to continue to bless him with good health, uncommon agility and many more years ahead.

At the end of his response, he was presented with a certificate of honour.

In their separate speeches, HRM Eze J. C. Ngobi and HRM Eze Charles C. Nwamara congratulated Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu on the honour conferred on him and urged him to sustain his cordial relationship with HRH Eze Nwaoha and the people as well as his good works in the entire Ngwa land.

In a chat with newsmen, Rev. Fr. John Ugochukwu Onyebuchi showered encomiums on HRH Eze Nwaoha.

He described him as a rare gem, a very caring traditional ruler and a loving father to all and sundry.

He prayed God to grant him many more years ahead.

He congratulated Super High Ebubedike Nworgu on his new Chieftaincy title.

He described him as a good man and urged him not to relent in his good works in Ngwa land and elsewhere.

Asked if such ceremony is fetish, the effervescent and eloquent priest did not conceal his love for culture as he boldly thundered that there is nothing fetish about it.

According to him there is nothing wrong with tradition as long as it is not contrary to God’s law or promotes idol worship.

He maintained that it is not bad for a priest or a christian to support some of the traditions that are good and use them to evangelize Nigeria, Africa and the world.

The glittering occasion climaxed with a grand reception organized by Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu.

Everybody ate and drank to his or her satisfaction and went home full of praises for Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu.

The occasion continued at the Umuogele residence of Ebubedike Nworgu till late in the night affording those who did not go with him to Umuezu Nvosi the opportunity to come and rejoice with him.

The occasion was a huge success and brought together family members, relatives, friends, in-laws, the people of Umuakwu Nsulu and other notable personalities.

Some of those that graced the occasion included Nze Jamike Eze (Omeudo 1 of Umuakwu Nsulu), Onyemachi Nworgu, Super High Chief Gabriel Onyeonoro, High Chief Celestine Nwaoha, Nonso Ogbu (Ebubedike’s in-law), Dr. Eugene Uzoma Nwaoha, Ihuomachi Sunday among others.

Super High Chief Ebubedike Nworgu is a well known philanthropist and inimitable pacesetter.

During his heyday he helped so many people to gain admission into federal universities as well as to secure jobs.

He also contributed immensely to the development of his community.

In appreciation of his tremendous contributions to humanity and the development of Nsulu, nay, Ngwa land, HRM Eze Dr. Aliche, the traditional ruler of Akwuanunu autonomous community conferred on him the prestigious Chieftaincy title of Aha Eji Aga Mba 1 of Akwuanunu autonomous community in 2008.

He is also a recipient of West African Personality Integrity Award (2007).

He is happily married to Lolo Rita Ebubedike and their marriage is blessed with lovely children.
